EasyShift / other side job type apps

Has anybody tried these? I just found a few of them today, and while most don't have jobs near me EasyShift has quite a few. I went and spent 1.5 hours doing 3 different jobs, and if I end up getting paid for them I should make about $16. Not too shabby. I've seen a lot of those "fill out a survey and make money from home!" apps/websites that end up paying pennies for a survey and don't let you cash out until you make $30 or something stupid, but this has no cashout minimum (paid via paypal, so you just withdraw from PP when you want) and actually pays in larger denominations. I certainly won't be able to quit my day job on it, but at the same time if I can buy lunch once a week and fill my tank that's great for me.

Anybody have any experience?

See if there's a marketing group in your area that does research studies / focus groups.

I had one call me about 3 years ago for a focus group for alumni about Pitt athletics. It was a discussion to toss ideas at us about ways to increase sales for men's football - i.e. installment payments, family friendly only sections, promotions with restaurants around the stadium, etc. There was about 20 of us; we first took turns talking about our connection to the school, how often we go to games, etc. Then, they presented ideas and asked our opinion on them, and then we had to rate them.

I participated b/c I wanted to share my opinions, but it paid $100 cash for an hour of my time (it was downtown, so 15-20 minute commute each way, plus the hour there). At any rate, I get calls from them all the time to participate in more studies. I haven't done any since, so I don't know if they cap you at so many / month. But, might be something easy to look into!

Yeah I'm on the circulation list for a few local focus group firms. I'll get an e-mail once every few months. They don't let you attend a focus group more than twice a year but with a few different firms I usually end up doing like 4-5 a year. My wife is also on the list and does probably 2-3 per year as well. Quick and easy ~$1000 in our pockets per year just for talking about some product or program for an hour.

Exactly, it's literally one of the easiest ways you can make money. Have a soda and a snack, sit back, answer some questions about your opinions, get $100-150 cash in an envelope.

This is the one I participated with for the Pitt study.
They call with a new study a few times / month.

I'm also on the distribution list for this group:
    http://corcom-inc.com/
They do a lot of studies regarding UPMC & Highmark. I haven't not actually participated in any of theirs.

I'm a little confused - you did 1.5 hours of work to make $16? Hardly seems worth it...

There's others that pay a lot more. Those are just the closest ones to work last night.

You'd have to pay me a lot to do this kind of stuff. I value my free time too much.

There are great sites if you're in certain industries that are great for side gigs, though. For example, Upwork is great and you can set whatever rate you want.

Yeah I heard an ad for takl, basically just side gigs and stuff but it's unavailable in my area (I really REALLY need to gtfo of here) and a cursory google search led me to easyshifts.

Gotcha. I'm not really familiar with this app but I was like, $5 an hour?!

If you're looking to make some extra side cash why not drive for Uber/Lyft? (Assuming they have them in your area that is.)

Because I lease my car. I don't think you can drive for them with a lease, plus even if I could I don't want to put all those extra miles on the car.

So, I thought of this thread last night while watching Shark Tank.

    This guy pitched "DNA Simple."
Apparently, you sign up and he matches you with research studies. If you're a match, they send a vial. You send back saliva and get paid $50.
(He makes money by selling these for $150). Mark Cuban gave him a deal.

    I signed up.
If you're interested, use my referral code

Market research jobs are the best. A friend's wife worked for one of these, so I did a few. Here were the best ones I did:

Spent an hour excerpting for 10 min (3x) and after each exercise, did a taste testing of a Gatorade type of drink and filled out a survey. Made $50 and wife made $50.
Did one for about 3 months, that every 3 weeks I would go buy a small McDonald's fries, and then do a phone survey. Had to do this 7x. Made $300 (plus I got the cost of the fries back).

Nope. It was my friends wife who recruited me. The people who recruit for this get paid if you show up, so once you find a good company, and they find you are reliable, they'll keep calling you so you both get paid.

As if I'd ever report these as income. Uncle Sam's got his dick far enough up my wallet's ass, he can keep his hands off my extra cash I earn from these things.

Getting new gutters this week for $800 so it's not like I'll use this money tonight for anything fun, but hey, $140 is $140 no matter what way you spend it.

Eh, I signed up for it so obviously not me.
The founder has a legit background. He was named to Forbes 30 under 30 in Science (2017) and was a fellow for the American Heart Association.
His board has members from the American Cancer Society, etc., and the thought behind it is legit. Medical research studies can have a hard time finding people for their study, which causes them to have to stop.
