So we got a brother tonight. First since like 2017. It’s only been played like a handful of times since the early 90s.
And so to bed is a super bust out. Hasn’t ever been played, but recorded in a demo in 1985. That’s like dmb playing monkey man. This band is effing incredible

watched the stream last night with a buddy. show was kind of all over the place. felt like the band was keeping things reigned in and on one level most of the night, the first set especially. the show felt even longer than it already was as a result. nice to see some different setlist placement of songs like hood and coil, though.
Yeah the fuck they did. Trey was on fire! First Frankie Says since 2015, I went crazy for that one. Antelope was smoking. So was that simple. Everything was.

Unfortunately reading someone jumped from a balcony at the show tonight and died. A whole section was cleared out. Band still playing and may not be aware.
I heard that in the bathroom tonight. Didn’t look like there were any empty sections and that feels like one of those things that would cause mass panic.
I preferred night 1

They didn’t clear out the whole section but they tarped off a large block of seats after they got the guy out. Apparently stepped over the glass in the 200s and just leapt. Landed in 116. There was a ton of blood.

Saw the pic and it was definitely very real. So much blood.

here's the story from the guy on phook.net who helped administer CPR
I had just come back up the 116 lower portal when it happened. My buddy gave me the “what the fuck is going on over there” look and gesture. And like someone mentioned it kinda had a fight type vibe in that everyone was moving away. I handed off my drink and moved past a couple of the people retreating only to see the guy jackknifed over a chair. There was a tremendous about of blood. When I got to him the (another fan) RN and I believe someone from the arena had started to move him off the chair. I helped get him on his side and he was not responsive in any way. I told the RN that we needed to check his pulse and start CPR. Initially they were kinda placing concern on him aspirating so there was a second or two of hesitation before fgetting him on his back. I checked his pulse and nothing. I told the girl it was go time and we both kinda paused because this guy was bleeding out of his whole face, had no mask, and I gotta tell you, already smelled like he was close to death. I started kinda one handing CPR and then she got after it.
The next guy in was a cop and I watched him put gloves on, then he kinda motioned for me to get out of the way. I told him that the girl was going to wear out quick and that it was time to switch on the CPR. He then kinda changed his tune and was like can you switch in. I asked him if he had gloves and he said no. By this time every chest compression was just pouring blood out of the guy. There were more people coming our way. One younger guy who the RN said was a doc. He jumped behind the head and was kinda performing a jaw thrust/carotid type hold to open the airway and presumably try to stop the bleeding. Another older guy tapped in and said be was a doc too. So they were kinda managing the head while we were on the chest.
More arena people were buzzing around. One big guy who is also in that first picture, came 3 times to tell us that the paramedics were here. The first two times they weren’t. So that gal RN pumped away while I tried to communicate the urgency of moving this guy out of there. I remember telling another arena staffer that we had to move now. We were doing compressions from the row below the guy. It was all bad.
Time moves very differently in those scenarios and it seemed like forever. I got out as soon as two giant security guard type people moved toward my right side. I watched an actual paramedic jump into action. It took probably another 9 minutes of CPR before they got the guy on a stretcher. There was an African American female paramedic that went level 10 superhero and jumped on the guy and took over CPR. Soon the RN that I was working with at the beginning was kinda shuffled off to the side. It looked like security wanted her to stay for questioning. And she did for a minute and then I saw her say something to the guy and start to move back toward her seat down lower. I went up to her from my seat and gave her a hug and told her she did a great job.
Couple of legit takeaways…
The first cop really did a terrible job of managing the situation. He was the first official guy on scene. I went from a first responder to a suspect to a first responder pretty quick. That moment allowed me to remember that there’s no way for someone to accurately assess that type situation in the moment. The cop should have been the one doing CPR. That was his job. Full stop.
This scenario was the poster scenario for whatever mock drills that their response teams should run. We were about as close as you can possibly be from the front door of the place and it took the better part of 15 minutes to get that guy out of there. Time being very weird I went back and timed it out based on the songs. This happened during Destiny and the guy was still there into the Reba jam. I run mock code drills all the time, this team needed more practice.
That said…this was a damn near impossible situation to manage effectively. The younger MD who had the airway was letting the cop have it when he was walking away, and I couldn’t hear what he was saying, but I’d bet cash that it was something to the effect of how poor the overall response was. But, of course that’s how you’re going to feel when you are so helpless to do much and seconds seem like minutes.
I’m so sorry for everyone that had to see all of that. That is not ok, and nobody should ever have to witness that.
The craziest thing about all of this is that a 230-260lb man fell god knows how far directly into a crowd and not a single other person got hurt (as far as I could tell). A move that selfish could have easily killed or maimed others. I’m so glad that it didn’t.
