I was able to do 13 at about 3-4 seconds faster than marathon pace and then the last was about 25 seconds slower. I was pretty tired at the end. No way I could do another 12 at that pace. The weather was pretty bad, 70, windy and some rain. The course I ran is pretty hard with some hills. Legs obviously tired from being in the middle of the cycle.
So the question is...if I struggled to finish the 14 can I really run the full 26 at my goal pace or is my fitness not there? My legs will be fresher. Weather should be better. Course should be easier. I don't want to bonk but I also want to get a good time.

i agree with what toy said
the marathon is really like two races. the first 20 miles and then the last 6 miles
the biggest and most common mistake runners make is going off to fast. when you get to the last 10k (and especially the last 5k), that's the time to get after it.
also, running negative splits is just a really really fun time
