damn. biggest loser of the night is Phoenix. prepare your angus

biggest winner of the night is me, bc the second round matchups if it goes chalk are an absolute dream. Lakers/Clippers and Utah/Denver was best case scenario but this is the second best scenario

Nichols/James interview is my absolute worst nightmare

That was the best 9.5 minutes of basketball I’ve seen in a long time. Lebron using sonar to hit a 30 footer since he couldn’t see. That shot will definitely be mentioned in Lebron’s 20 part, 30 hour documentary one day.

Vogel finally recognizing Dennis stinks and Caruso is the true defender. Opening the offense for Davis.

Also won't be talked about as much but forcing curry/green to put the ball down and drive and the length of the Lakers were the difference.

    LeBron still the best ever

most interesting takeaway was seeing who Vogel thinks his best lineups are against a conventional small defense and he’s absolutely right. Davis/James/Caruso/Caldwell-Pope/Matthews. not Kuzma, Harrell, Horton-Tucker, Schroder, or obviously Drummond

    yeah what Anthony says

yeah that’s on Kerr. left too many non shooting threats on the floor, and it allowed swarming on the main guys. Bazemore really shouldn’t have been out there and they got lucky with Wiggins playing ok

Never cheered for a Phoenix team, but would love to see them knock out these Lakers. Barely beating an 8th seed goat lol.

Edit: it was an unbelievable shot.

yeahhh Ayton in his first playoffs with a bum ankle will be rough, but he’s not the only problem. James Jones has been incredible but Kaminsky and Saric as your only centers isn’t good enough. that Jalen Smith wasted pick is actually devastatingly bad in hindsight, at least short term

Lakers have an incredible bracket. two sweeps isn’t out of the question

Lakers also have off until Sunday. Even if they give up a patented first game loss, LeBron might add another douchebag sweep to his resume.

running down the line of my picks, i’m really excited but it’s looking pretty chalky

Philadelphia over Washington in 5, Indiana in 6
Atlanta over New York in 7, absolutely kills me but they just have better playoff players at the end of the day

Milwaukee over Miami in 6 and I actually wanna pick 5 but respect Butler/Spoelstra too much
    Brooklyn over Boston in 4

Utah over Golden State in 6, Memphis in 4
    Clippers over Dallas in 5

    Lakers over Phoenix in 5
Denver over Portland in 6, my brain tells me 5 but i’m a coward

hoping to see more 7s in there but eh. the second and third round matchups should be pretty goaty though

my gut actually told me Atlanta in 6 because Young will kill Thibodeau’s traditional pnr defense, but I think New York will prevent him from getting cheap free throws so it’s almost a wash

I too like Lakers in 5

Lebron just keeps adding to the resume. Like last year, 3-12 is not a playoff team on the Lakers, but they are so good.

Lakers barely win a play in game and suddenly they're winning the championship? Interesting.

They have to be considered a favorite or close to it. They have the GOAT and a top 5 guy. A favorable match-up in the first round to get in playoff mode. They are the defending champions so this group knows what they need to do.

Eh, I don't think Young/the Hawks are consistently efficient enough in the pick and roll to kill a disciplined defense.

I want the Hawks to win but Rodey might be right. The Knicks are a tough match-up for them and they don't have any playoff experience

We'll spare the argument of whether or not he's the GOAT, but I'm not really sure how you could even begin to form the argument that the Suns are a favorable matchup.

1-3 in the West are all better. You could probably throw the Clippers in there as well. Maybe they turn it on and win again, but eventually that's going to catch up to you, especially when the competition has gotten better.

Jazz are obviously the biggest threat, IMO. Gobert is going to force Davis to make outside shots and Davis is not have another playoff run where he hits 38% from three.
