there are alot of beautiful things to do here -

one thing you have to do is go swimming in the ocean - our beaches are amongst the best in the entire world.

la jolla shores has some really nice snorkling and you can rent a kayak - it's perfect there.

if the padres are playing then you should goto the stadium - its really quite nice.

The zoo is incredible! spend some time just sitting and watching the monkeys - don't rush it and you will see some incredible animal behaviors...quite entertaining.

balboa park is amazing, the prada is absolutely gorgeous and there is a wonderful exhibit entitled bodies that is insane.

heck sea world is even amazing - sometimes sad - but incredible to see the animals up close.

the kent theater is awesome - -

pick up the city beat and check it out - that's where the action is.

have a blast in sun diego -

The zoo is fun..bring a flask.

Wait another 5 years for a Mexico trip.

If you like ballparks but don't care about good baseball, petco park is cool.

30th street in north park has some kick ass food and bars.

Beaches to enjoy are sunset cliffs in ocean beach. North pacific beach (law street). La jolla shores. Where ever really; the water is warm and the beaches are sandy.

If you're single; PB is cool, but downtown is for clubers. There are a handful of restaurants doing good food and some sweet Irish bars downtown. but if you've been to SF, Chicago or NY...stay on the outskirts.

Eat mexican food while in town. Rolled tacos, carne asada fries, chilequiles, fish tacos, and soups. However, there are a million taco shops, so I'll need to know what part of town your in. Actually, I need to know that before I continue with any further info.

Don't listen to Kittens. San Diego is where he was dumped by his gay pre-op transexual lover. If YOU, happen to be gay...Hillcrest is your part of town. Great part of town really; lots of good food and cool shops, kittens can fill you in.

    Peace

La Jolla Shores, Balboa Park, the Zoo, definitely echoing all that. Good suggestions there.

Places to eat: In-N-Out of course. Rubio's and Wahoo's are the best when it comes to fish tacos. Round Table for pizza, they make a hell of a pie.

The Gaslamp is also a cool place to kick it and BS around.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you. I'm sure there's a better pizza place to try. Round Table is a chain and no better than Dominos, Little Ceasars etc....

I found a number of pizza places with awesome toppings that also had 50 or so microbrews on tap. Try to find one of those.

I had some kind of garlic and cilantro pizza that was awesome.

La Jolla is an amazing place. If able and wanting to catch a sunset, head over to Sunset Cliffs, south of downtown. One of the coolest places I've ever been to in my life.

I'm heading to the Pomona area in a few weeks. Cannot wait to check out some hills/dessert landscape for the first time.

Hmmm. For quite a while I've been considering packing up and moving to San Diego (if I find a job) for a little while. I've never been, but have a strong hunch I'd love it. I grew up in CT, went to school in Boston, and am now back in CT. Very tired of winters, and love the warmth/sun/beach.

I'd like to stay in the medical device industry, which I hear is plentiful out in SD.

    A little stereotyping, sure.

I live in Chicago and am from Aurora originally. I actually haven't been in Joliet in a while. Was wondering if it had become a craphole like Aurora and Elgin (the other cities with casinos).
