fantastic beasts and where to find them

pretty meh overall, but what I really enjoyed was the casual magic use throughout. always felt like that was missing from the HP movies

Wind River - 8.5/10
It's not as good as Hell or High Water, but it's still quite good. It's slower than Hell or High Water, but it still has similar tenseness and unflinching violence. Top 10 movie of the year so far.

Lucky Logan - 8/10
It's a redneck Ocean's 11 (or Ocean's 7-11 as the movie itself even says in it). I thought it was very funny. Daniel Craig definitely steals the show. Just a satisfying comedy. It's not like Superbad comedy. It's more like heartfelt comedy mixed in with a money heist plot.

Miss Sloan - 8/10 (Amazon Prime)
Watched this for the first time last night. I was pleasantly surprised by it. It gets on a soapbox a little bit, but it's not over the top and it's not until the very end of the movie. I was intrigued throughout by the main character and the ending did catch me off guard. I'm going to try not to think too hard about any plot holes that may exist and just leave it as is. I enjoyed it and if politics intrigues you at all, I think you'd like it too.

Logan Lucky was amongst my 10 most anticipated 2017 releases, and while it didn't quite meet the expectations I would associate with that degree of excitement, it was very enjoyable and came off as being immensely rewatchable. My inner-Junior came out every time Riley Keough appeared on screen.

Suffice it to say, both of my favorite films of the year now have the name Logan in their title.

I didn't, but if you only see a single movie in the theater per month it's still saved you a buck or two on that movie. If you see more than one you're playing with house money.


For me though, price of admission isn't the issue. It's the buckets of beer and food I'd order at Alamo every time I'd go.
