Hopefully they pick a 1999 or a 2002 show next. Those years have no live trax releases.

I'm gonna have to bust out Folsom Field tonight when I cut grass to refresh my memory on 2001. Good timing as it's been a while since I've listened to this show.

Haha! That's exactly what I'm doing right now! (Listening to Folsom, not cutting the grass, lol.)

Pretty good release. With 31 Live Trax, plus a dozen or so "official" releases, this one fell out of rotation. Wife asked who "the lovely ladies" were, after talking to some people at our show this summer, so we listened to that on our drive home. Forgot how much I like it.

P.S. (Listening to Folsom this morning... 9:08 mark of Angel, very moving and prophetic now that Roi is gone. Amen, Lovely Ladies. This show is getting me even more pumped for LT31.)

I find it hard to get excited about any release that features Butch and the Lovely Ladies.

I really like Tim and Rashawn, but I find Butch unnecessary, much like Peter G. And the lovely ladies just don't need to be there at all. Why not pick a show where Jeff and Bela guested? They add something.

In terms of the show, I think N3 or even N1 look better shows. But they have picked N2. This would be my bonus disc:

    So Right (6.22.01) (6.5 minutes)
    Big Eyed Fish >
    Bartender (6.22) (18 minutes)
Drive In Drive Out (6.24.01) (6.5 minutes)
Minarets or Fool To Think (To involve the LL, so they don't get sad)
    Lover Lay Down >
    Seek Up (6.24) (27 minutes)
Captain [partial] > Funny how time slips away (6.24.01) (5 minutes)
    The Stone (6.22) (8 minutes)

The disc is under 80 minutes so it works. I love DDTW, but don't need another version of it, same with Too Much. Angel is god awful, especially being that long, and why truncate Recently?!

    Just my opinion.

Most were getting bored with recent shows, and this one is unique for the reasons you listed.

Usually in a band, the keyboard is one of the most important components of the sound. In 2001, performances dwarf Tim/Jeff/rashawn current performances.

Bonus disc is the main reason I will purchase. Show looks decent. Definitely curious how the bands sounds as I believe Dave was fighting a rib injury that show.

True, but this unique is not really a good unique. I thought everybody was agreed that the LL are terrible additions? I've always found Butch really ordinary, certainly no Roy Bittan from the E Street Band. Although I do like him on Lie In Our Graves and Time of the Season. The worst part of the Central Park concert for me was Butch on Two Step. I know it's all just different peoples opinions, these are just mine. What do you think of the release? Or my idea for the bonus tracks?

It does seem a little strange to see everyone so pumped over a release with 9 songs featuring the LLs and an Everyday heavy setlist. Many call 2001 one of the worst tours, and it definitely was the worst at the time.

Will FLAC downloads also include the 3rd "disk" of bonus songs? Or only CD orders? Seems like the bonus tracks are included no matter what format you choose to purchase, right?

It's definitely refreshing to have a 01 show released. Despite it being called the worst tour, I have always been a big fan of the Folsom release, so I'm pretty excited to hear this one.

it's different as far as what we have received as of late, although LT30 was awesome, this is a nice surprise, I look forward to hearing this! I did all 3 shows at Giant Stadium that tour, had a great time too!

Nah. Average show in a very good month of DMB. Many other June '06 shows are more deserving than this one.

Fantastic. Show probably won't get released though because that billies was so butchered.
Average show. Billies was a major train wreck and the show kinda fizzled as it went on.

    As for 6/23/01.........

This is a very good Jimi. Dave has some fun introducing the band during Jimi ("who am I forgetting?")

Things in moderation. The ladies aren't inherently bad. But we don't want every Live Trax with them. It's a good show from an under represented era.

    Re: Live Trax 31 - 6/23/01

I think this release will surprise a lot of people. Like others have mentioned, some of these performances are top-notch, particularly Jimi. I listened to the tape today. I haven't listened to much from this era lately. It sounded so fresh, a nice change of pace from the more rock-heavy rushed sound of current shows.
