Re: The Gorge Q&A and FAQs

Just to clarify: I incorrectly thought there were two separate wristbands, one for PIT and a separate wristband for early entry to the venue. Lining up early is your only chance for a good spot on the lawn. Lining up yesterday though was a disaster.

N1 at the Gorge: There was no early entry for anyone. All gates opened at the same time, including TM/LN. Confused WH members who waited many hours in the baking sun shouted that we were supposed to go first and security yelled back that they were unaware. A stampede ensued and everyone was desperate to get in.

I heard one concertgoer upset about losing their years-old DMB blanket in the chaos. Many others (including me) were just confused because they got rid of the 10 minute early entry for WH ticket holders.

For anyone that went last night: how lenient did they seem on bag policy and stroller policy? We are bringing kids like we have in years past (granted, pre covid) ages 2, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10. The clear bag policy and no stroller policy are new for us. Thanks. Freaking out here, travelled from afar.

I would say very lenient. Very few issues with security. They have a bag & chair check outside the venue if you'd like. Clear bags are required, which you should have, but we also have a foldable blanket with pockets and they've allowed that in. Lastly, food like PBJs are okay to bring inside.

Recovering from our first Gorge trip. I wanted to get out there for a long time. I don’t have anything new to add to this thread that hasn’t been said, but you really can’t apply too much chapstick or drink too much high quality H2O. Also if you are unsure about making the journey out there just toss your worries aside and go. You won’t regret it. And thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I found a ton of great tips searching through it. I didn’t camp, we did the charter bus, which was a fucking fantastic time, but this thread was still extremely helpful.

This is a random question, and hopefully somebody can point me in a direction. I've at shows seen people wearing shirts from other venues that had that year/venue/show setlist on the back, would love to know if somebody knows where to find something like this for this years Gorge run. Any direction appreciated.

My dad is a huge Joni fan. Unsure if her Gorge show next year is a one off, but seeing her there sounds incredible. However, my dad is definitely getting his second knee replacement next year. Unsure when. Is there ADA parking close to the venue or is it still just a whole lot of walking to get inside?

When do peeps normally book flights? Also, is it tough to get a rental car or is it better to book that as well when booking flight? Will be my first time at Gorge in 2023 and coming from VA!!

I usually book flights as soon as SW opens up their calendar to that weekend. If the price drops, I'll just get the difference credited to me.

I book a rental car right away too, then just watch prices. If they go up or they run out of cars, no problem because I have my reservation. If I find a cheaper option, I'll just re-book with that since you don't have to secure a car reservation with a CC.

Today Southwest extended their schedule into mid-AUG. On FEB 9th you'll be able to book your Gorge flights (but early doesn't necessarily mean the cheapest anymore):

We are currently accepting air reservations through August 14, 2023. On February 9, 2023, we will open our schedule for sale through October 4, 2023. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Posted in Random Thread, but thought it to be fitting here in our Gorge thread

Interesting Gorge stats since 2002 that I compiled here. This does not include repeats, just the amount of different songs played that year. Say what you want about 2 sets, but they did play the most DMB songs during these 2 years. I tend to be at the front of complaining about covers, but spread out over the weekend I suppose a handful isn't as bad as I thought. I would still like to see 0 covers. This also does not take into effect quality of songs; that's a whole another debate.

Year: DMB l Covers l Total:

    2002: 45 2 47

Do they offer 3-day lawn seat bundles through the WH when Intants go on sale?

My friends missed out on the WH sale & the bundle on TM. They're hoping to save as much money as possible and the bundle is an attractive option. Thank you.

If they want to save as much money as possible, just show up to the Gorge and get lawn tickets for like $10 on the day of the show.

The Stubhub screenshot is from 5 years ago, so I'd imagine it would be more in 2023? My friends would like to have WH tickets anyway, so the question still stands about the 3-day lawn bundle for WH instants.

Lawn face value hasn't really increased, so wouldn't see way 2nd market would. But this certainly isn't a 100% dependable way to plan on getting in. There will be cheap tix in camping.

Instants: Some years there is no Lawn for any shows, some years there is. Think we'll have to wait and see.

Sorry, that they wanted WH only wasn’t clear since you mentioned TM.

You’ll be able to find WH Lawn passes here or on the WH boards.

I’m flying in from Scotland on 31st august and leaving again on 6th September. Obviously I’d like to do the tourist part as well as the show - should I stay in Seattle and travel back and forth or would it be more beneficial to find a base closer to the venue?

    Thanks

seattle is 2 1/2 hours from the venue, so that would be absolutely BRUTAL for 3 nights. especially post show.

Add at least an hour to that post-show.

Hey Friends! Been going to the Gorge since 2010. I have never lined up early to be first into the venue. Is it still a free-for-all when it comes to lower lawn seating? The spots below the pathway carved into the hill? I might try to test my luck on Saturday since the Huskies play at 12:30 and I can park my ass in the line and listen to the game on the radio. Are those spots first come first serve or are they lawn reserved? I can run with the best of them, ha! I always do pit N1, lawn N2, and reserved N3. I have been on one of those lower cliff seating for Sasquatch music festival years back, killer spots. Any info is greatly appreciated. Stoked to party with you all in two months!

Terrace seating is indeed a free-for-all. No point lining up all day early for it unless you have Warehouse tickets, as WH early entry alone will fill it up.

If they choose to let the correct line in first, which was not the case last year.

Haha, yea, LN staff is always a wild card.

I still remember the Caravan where Moon Taxi played to an empty field because they didn't open the fucking gates until 90 minutes after the festival day started.

I forget which time it was that it happened, but I definitely remember the terrace steps being fenced off and its own special section once. Caravan maybe?

Hi there. Any way to find out whether there are any Gold RV WITH POWER camping passes left? LiveNation only says "Gold RV," but doesn't specify whether there's power available there or not. If none are available through LiveNation, any idea how we might get one? StubHub doesn't say whether Gold RV passes are powered either.

    Thanks.
