Metallica hasn't done back to back shows in a very long time. Many bands as they get older put a day gap there. When they announced this world tour they said on the Saturday they are filling it up with Metallica events, like the Chase Center shows. There will be cover band shows, probably the Taipei Houston band as well, whiskey events, etc... Metallica does a good job booking up all sorts of other Met-related activities on that day. Probably a M&G with some of them for a partner, maybe a pop up Met store like the 2017 stadium tour had, all that stuff. The middle day is basically a local "Metallica day" in the city. They aren't going to play that day, though.

Went to the first two shows at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah when it opened - Earth Wind and Fire private show and then the Eagles. Had a blast. DMB there would be fun. Yes, on a summer tour definitely Daily's Place x2 again as that was incredible. But for a festival warm-up, Savannah would be cool.

More concrete date rumors this week? I think someone said that Alpine date came out December 10 last year.

I love that venue because of the small size, and Bend is a delight. It's too much for me to do the Gorge followed by a Bend trip though.

No idea. I'd say because the sound is crappy there, but I doubt they care about that. Not my favorite venue at all, but man, I had some great times at DMB Hershey over the years.

By 2013 they were barely filling the Hershey stadium halfway. Probably just didn’t make sense to play a large(ish) venue in a fairly remote area anymore. Kind of surprised they never tried Scranton again.

2012-2013 it was half empty.

Would love for them to go back to Scranton though.

Got off by asking about 2010ish

2013ish I got back on by requesting too many shows. There was something wrong with that year's new request changes, something about color coordinated identifiers for certain shows, I pointed it out to the Warehouse in an e-mail, there response was "Why did you request so many shows? You're being put on will call"

Scranton was sold out the first few years I believe, then they had it on a Wednesday after Memorial Day and never came back. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out the Wednesday after a holiday weekend isn’t gonna do very well.

Maybe that’s what I’m thinking of then. Either way I remember it being obvious that it wasn’t going to be a good turnout.

You were right, '13 was right after the holiday. But lets not act like it wasn't a slow decline before that.

Montage Mountain was a dump in 2013 (was at that DMB show) and is still a dump now too, (went to an another show there last year).

Oh I wasn’t directing that at anyone, just my thoughts on the place. I’d personally much rather they go back to Hershey (which they won’t) or make Merriweather a consistent stop.

Scranton may be a dump lol but the venue is solid except they have nobody I’m interested in year in and year out now. It sucks.

One road in is the biggest issue.

montage COULD be great, but its not taken care of properly. the idea of montage is great, the execution, not so much.

05 and 06 were both sold out/over-sold. i heard the band wanted to play 2 nights in 06 after 05 was such a success and the venue said no, which is so on brand for scranton. starting in 08 the attendance started to decline and by the time 2012 and 13 rolled around, they were selling under 10k. got cut along with hershey and bethel for the same reasons. not sure how bethel did on its reboot a few years ago, but i would be interested to see if scranton would have any draw being that its been 10 years now since the last show there. i doubt it would sell that well considering even places like spac and camden are nowhere near the level of sales that they used to be.
