Re: ***official labor dave weekend -- gorge thread 2019***

I’ve been going to the gorge since 1999 minus a year. This past year was the first time in recent memory that I’ve seen the pit line not be let into the venue before all other lines. Anyone know if this is going to be the same this year? It’s likely a question for the venue but thought I’d throw it out there in case anyone has any inside info.

Fox Rent a Car will let you rent at 19 I think. They may impose some extra fees but last year they were the cheapest rental company anyway. They have a facility at SEATAC.

Now you know it doesn't really take THAT much planning.

Planning is half the fun, but I could decide to go in June an be OK with that.

Probably gonna do Terrace or Premier. Doesn't look like you can lose there. Love dmbolp's description of Terrace as far as having the best view

Terrace looks nice, but premier has a great community. Most of the regulars on ants stay in Premier, or have in the past. Just good vibes there all around. We have some decent views too.

Got my email last night about Oasis pre-sale for returning customers. Talked it over with the wife, and looks like we wont be going She wants to take a vacation we have never done before, so i obliged. We did 6 shows last year (including her first) so i cant ask for her to repeat Gorge every year. Hopefully we can get back though.

I mean, "worth it" is always such a relative term that it's pretty much impossible to universalize it. to me, it was completely worth it. you don't need to bring anything other than food to oasis. they even give you a cooler/sunscreen/grills/grill tools. they have their own dedicated security line that has nobody in it (this was actually the thing I liked most--the security lines were crazy, oasis people just waltzed directly in). in and out with your car is incredibly easy. you're right next to both the entrance to Cave B winery and the venue entrance. showers were good to very good. bathrooms were great. the rooms/yurts themselves were even good-comfortable beds. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to the gorge, but if I did, I 100% would do oasis.

I get it, but I'm cheap, like to do as many trips as possible, as cheaply as possible; it's a challenge/hobby. I'm just hoping the golf course has a shower this year

Yeah it was nice to see no price increase this year (although i think the 4 person one was more last year, so pricing at a flat $1550 is nice)

I totally think it's worth it, and would only do Gorge that way. We like to camp, but getting the gear from OK and being around that many people is not something my wife and I would really want. We are pretty quite and like our space.

I'm a cheap person in my normal day to day, but when it comes to vacation i find no pleasure in trying to make it cheap. We only get to take off work so often, so our time and comfort is more important than having a tight budget.

Planning to do Oasis this year again. It’s expensive, but as noted above definitely worth it if you can swing it. I didn’t have any experience camping and was traveling from NYC, so it was convenient to just grab some food and show up.

everything is worth it if you can afford it.

$1550 is a LOT of money to have a pampered tent setup, but I'm also a camper, and prefer the activity and interaction of the campgrounds.
