And so begins my struggle with how many tickets to order and where... I really do hate lawn, but if I'm able to get a bigger group together, it's always more fun to sit together...

Who am I kidding? Everyone keeps having babies. The wife and I are likely on our own. TO THE PAVILION!

Made my morning. Now I've got to convince the wife to be okay with leaving our son with a babysitter for a couple days. We're heading to Colorado for 4 days in June so I know she won't be excited to leave him overnight multiple days 2 months in a row. I really don't want Tinley to be my only show.

Even though we had all-but-confirmed status on this for weeks now, it still felt really good and I let out a sigh of relief when it became officially official.

Thank you! I booked two hotel rooms because I knew the pricing was going to go thru the roof. We got one on Lake Geneva and one a little further out in Delavan. As I often do at the Gorge, I stay a little further out, and if I'm not mistaken, neither of these places are too far from the venue.

So excited that Alpine is back on the tour! Anyone know if they are going to allow camping at the venue again like they did in 2016?

Lake Geneva is nice. Be forewarned: the police there are... enthusiastic about their roles. Had a buddy get stopped by a cop on foot for an illegal U-turn and it turned into a full hour of DUI investigation. After blowing a 0.00, the cop still insisted someone else take over driving.

Yep - Lake Geneva and Delavan are both just a short drive away so you're perfect. I booked the Hampton Inn in Elkhorn/Lake Geneva, $526 total all-in for 2 nights a few weeks ago which, all things considered isn't bad for a holiday/concert weekend.

That's the rub on Alpine so frequently falling on the 4th of July weekend, Lake Geneva is a total tourist/resort town so prices there are already sky high for that weekend, adding shows at Alpine just makes it worse.

That's good to know! Can't be fooling with all that.

Are there any must-do/must-sees/must-eats? I've heard about canopy tours and some wineries. Looking at some restaurants now, though we probably will only be doing breakfast/lunch due to timing.

Honestly, there isn't a lot in the way of that kind of stuff. Lake Geneva is a fun little town but nothing that is "OMG YOU HAVE TO DO THIS."

If you're in town for more than just the show days, Milwaukee is nearby and you can always have a good time there. The big thing with Alpine though is the tailgating and you can get started really early. ("Official" lots opening is always 3 PM, but they almost always open by noon or 1 and you can pay $20 per car to get started early.) .

Would be really convenient if they allowed it at the venue again. Anybody here camp at the venue in 2016? We camped in 2015 at McIntyres (sp?) and had a great time. But would rather not have to worry about a shuttle or bus.

I just splurged on some really good seats for The Who at Alpine. Presale isn't until tomorrow (unless you're in the fan club which is $50) but they had a category of "aisle/end seats" that wasn't requiring a presale code - I just bought 203 Z 2 seats off the center aisle.

Sitting here trying to figure out how GF and I can have a good time without having to worry about driving a rental car after the show makes me realize we are spoiled at the Gorge
