I posted some lossy audio files of the show a couple pages back. Sent the DVD down to Justin so he can hopefully make more out of it than what I'm capable of .

"Last time I went this deep into a song it was Walt Grace's Submarine Test... Total obsessive wormhole. Well worth the trip."

    Sounds good to me.

Can't wait, I loved seeing the trio at the tabernacle back in the day. Will it be similar to that?

Listened to Walt Grace three times on my flight today. So fucking brilliant. I don't know that he'll ever top that in terms of storytelling. I would love for him to take questions about that song one day. But then again the fact that there are so many interpretations adds to the allure.

Popped on his artist folder on my ipod and hit shuffle and Split Screen Sadness came up followed by Come Back to Bed. Heavier Things is a bit of a sleeper album for me. It doesn't touch RFS or Continuum as far as start to finish quality goes, but damn it has some gems on there.

Come Back To Bed is such a fucking tune. "It's so good i'm gonna make you like it."

Mayer's Late Late Show was a bit awkward. But I thought it was actually pretty great - John did a good job of being meta- about himself and the workings of a late night tv show.

Wheel... ohhhh what a great tune. Wheel and Come Back To Bed are easily the best two tracks off that album.

Wheel for me is pre-trio/continuum blues John at his best. I think it is one of his best jobs at combining a sexy riff with incredible lyrics.

I may have to agree with you after re-reading them. In Repair, Taking on Water, & Slow Dancing in A Burning Room may have something to say for me.

    Quote:
People have the right to fly
And will when it gets compromised
    Their hearts say "Move along"
    Their minds say "Gotcha heart"
    Let's move it along
    Let's move it along

    And airports
    See it all the time
    Where someone's last goodbye
    Blends in with someone's sigh
    Cause someone's coming home
    In hand a single rose

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now
And I won't be the last
No I won't be the last,
    To love her

And you can't build a house of leaves
And live like it's an evergreen
    It's just a season thing
It's just this thing that seasons do

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now
And you won't be the first
No you won't be the first
    To love me

You can find me, if you ever want again
    I'll be around the bend
    I'll be around the bend
    I'll be around,
    I'll be around
And if you never stop when you wave goodbye
You just might find if you give it time
    You will wave hello again
You just might wave hello again

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now

You can't love too much, one part of it (repeat then fade)

I believe that my life's gonna see
    The love I give
    Return to me
I believe that my life's gonna see
    The love I give
    Return to me
I believe that my life's gonna see
    The love I give
    Return to me [repeat 1x]
