It's my 21st birthday and I can't think of a better way to spend it! SO EXCITED!!!

I did not know this but this puts a HUGE smile on my face !!! Missed him this year with Grace. They played Phx the same day I was in Vegas watching Dave and Tim.

This will be my first west coast DMB show after 44 out east. I'm moving to the area this spring and am so glad Dave shows will still be a normal part of life.
Anyone have any comparisons between the fan base on the two coasts?

By the looks of the people posting in here so far, appears that Chula is getting a great group of Ants this year. Always love this venue and show, but the people make it even better.

Hey Zac. It is going good. I started the Irvine thread last night, but it got buried REAL quick. Not much excitement for that show. Even if the Haiti Relief song was from that hallowed venue. But c'mon, this is the Chula thread. Keep the Irvine chatter, to well, the Irvine thread.

Well, I am definitely in. It will be a great place to turn 21. I will buy ya a beer.

As well, I always throw a tailgate together for the Ants and this year will be no different. I will get the location together and post that in the near future. It's always such a great time at the Chula show and I am really looking forward to it.

Zach, They really do play some great shows there (or here). Seems like the band has some good LoVE for Chula. I will start now with a Minarets request for Chula.

Super laid back on the West Coast and you have been to the East coast shows plenty. You make the call. I will say you will have a great time. More than welcome to join the tailgate this year.

The small blue shaded rectangle, inside the shaded red lot (upper right corner), is where the Ants meet-up has happened in the past. I'll speak from the experience I had last year. It's the perfect spot.

That sucks that you don't get a show in PHX this year but with the disappointing sales from last year, it doesn't surprise me. But you still have Chula to fall back on. Should be a helluva show!

yeah i'm thankful Chula Vista is driving distance. i was bummed about not getting a Phoenix show but, like you said, not surprised. besides, CA bud is better than AZ bud (unless it comes from CA ) although it does make me sad that people in my state can't appreciate good music.

that's how i see the situation too. my dad and i are talking about SPAC and i know that we wouldn't have even considered it if we had a show in Phoenix. every dark cloud has a silver lining

I would absolutely LOVE to join in on an ants tailgate! Man, it's been like 3 days since I've found out and I am still grinning ear to ear. I can't believe I got so lucky as to have it on my 21st bday. I hope he plays Crash Into Me again... that's my favorite song and it was such an amazing moment to hear it last year!

I'm pretty new to ants but I appreciate the warm welcome I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Katy, and I'm originally from Santa Cruz but now happily reside in San Diego. I am a senior in college and a HUMUNGOUS Dave fan. Only been to 3 shows... but I plan to make that MANY MANY more. And I haven't missed a show since I moved to San Diego.
