I don't think that commercial is a 670 issue, it's a nationwide sports radio issue. Give it a rest, there are only so many cars we have to give away. 670 does seem to play longer commercial breaks than our locals down here.

I am looking forward to more Wilson Contreras car commercials though.

    My best guess

    Kars 4 Kids Business Model

    1. Collect and sell cars
    2. Use all our revenue on advertisement
    3. Collect and sell even more cars
    4. Still spend all revenue on advertisement
    5. See Step 1

I’m wondering what the holdup is on O’Hara as QB coach, or if that got blocked by the Texans. I think they’d be able to lure DeFilippo as long as they promise not to block him from taking an OC gig.

    there's still 5 jobs open?

I'd bet he's an OC for one those jobs

It's possible, but I wouldn't call it a lock. I figured he was going to wind up with the Seahawks at first. Patricia is supposedly going to keep Cooter. I don't know if he has any ties to McDaniels or Schurmur. Haley and Bevell are out there if these guys want veteran coordinators.

I was surprised they didn't hire Todd Downing or Pat O'Hara and are sticking with Dave Ragone. I don't know if the other candidates wouldn't take the job, but Mitch's mechanics regressed as the season went on..... So why is Ragone sticking around?

    Re: Da Bears

This is from Brad Biggs the other day pre-keeping Ragone.

    Quote:
Sources have said that former Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell could wind up in the mix as well. Bevell has not worked with Nagy previously, but they do have a common link. Nagy had a close relationship with Brad Childress in Kansas City. When Childress was the head coach of the Vikings from 2006-2010, Bevell served as his offensive coordinator.

The only position coaching role that has yet to be filled is a quarterbacks coach. It’s possible Nagy could create a role or title for another addition.

Bevell could be in play for a coordinator role or quarterbacks coach job elsewhere with a handful of spots still open around the league. The Cardinals, Colts, Giants, Lions and Titans have yet to hire head coaches.
Depending how it all plays out both Childress and/or Bevell could wind up as assistants on the staff. I'd like to have a veteran voice around on the offensive staff that has a long history of play calling.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Still quite a bit of holes to fill, but you can't be upset with everything they addressed today. I'm hoping Trey Burton is the low-key win of this FA period. Cody Parkey should hopefully bring some stability to that position.

But as I said, still lots of holes. OLB, ILB, LG, CB...plus, still need a backup QB. I don't know who that is at this point. Mark Sanchez? Blaine Gabbert? Drew Stanton?

I'm feeling the Bears are going to fall into 6-10 to 10-6 range depending on how things break. I'm hopeful for an 8-8 year considering the defense should continue to be good, and Nagy would seemingly allow this team to be better on offense. How good they are will really just depend on how well Trubisky develops. I'm not expecting a Goff-esque jump, but I do think being away from Loggains will be huge.

I also think it's possible the Bears can pile up a bunch of wins early, but that second half of the schedule could be pretty rough. Giants are the only game in December where they might be favored and it's in New York.

Would be very happy with R. Smith or Q. Nelson tonight. Happy with D. Ward or M.Fitzpatrick. Only player I'd move up for is B. Chubb. Don't want T. Edmunds or a C. Ridley (I doubt he is really an option, just saying I don't want to reach for a WR).

Luckily I don't think there is much risk in the first round pick, so it should be a fun night.

My guess is Q. Nelson, but I think I'd slightly rather have R. Smith.

I still can't believe the Bears got Mack.

Best reaction was from Packers receiver Davante Adams:

    @tae15adams: Huh?? Chi? I thought.....

Honestly the Packers have to hate Ryan Pace right now. They wanted Fangio and Bears figured out how to keep him. They wanted Fuller and Pace matched. We know Robinson said he choose Bears over the Packers. Packers were rumored to be in on Mack, and obviously Davante Adams thought it was serious enough to actually happen. If the Packers off-season was Fangio, Fuller, Robinson, and Mack they'd have surpassed the Vikings on paper.

Plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball now. Success will still be decided by how good the O line and coaching is, even though all eyes will be on Trubisky.

More excited for this season than I have been in a while and actually felt that way before Mack. Obviously this team has to show improvement, but I hope Mack hasn’t brought unrealistic expectations. Still a long way to go, but hard to not like what they have done.

Very true, I still feel like next year is THE year as almost the entire core is already locked up for next year too. Adrian Amos being the biggest person coming off the books after this season. You can pretty much bring the exact same squad into the season next year and add even more depth/talent in the offseason again.

The Mack trade and signing was perfect. I understand why Pace went so hard after him THIS year. With the way the contract is structured, Mack is very cuttable after the 2021 season. Which just so happens to be when Mitch will need a new contract. I'm sure that's no accident. While you have your QB on this rookie deal is when you want to push for a player like Mack, especially in his prime. That opportunity doesn't come across your lap every day, so good on Pace for making it happen.

I thought OLB and ILB were the biggest holes in the defense heading into the offseason, and they're now probably the strongest positions on the entire team. Mack, Roquan, Trevathan and Floyd is so damn exciting. Kwiatkoski is a perfectly capable backup, too.

I hope Harry Hiestand lives up to his pedigree. He had some great seasons before (2006, 2008) and pretty much made Olin Kreutz's career. If the offensive line can hold up, this team could be a huge turnaround story.

It's so awesome to be excited for Chicago Bears football again.

Starting off at GB is fun, but it's going to bring out the aggressive hot-takes either way. Mack trade was stupid and we suck if we lose, best team ever if we win.

Anyone who judges the Mack trade that aggressively after he only had a week with the team needs to have their head checked.
