I realized I do not care about sets or song chasing when im at a show anymore, because even with a festival set like I got at Pilgrimage I still had fun.
I think I only cared about this band being not torture on the ears when being at a show like they had been for so long with how fast and loud and overbearing Tim got too.
Now they have toned back significantly, and you can hear each one of them- which leads me excited for the future in going to shows again.

I agree they sounded excellent. I also have gone back to just enjoying the show/moment. That's actually how I've always been with every band, but got caught up in watching and comparing setlists during the 2018 summer tour and found myself not enjoying the moment at our last show in VA Beach 2018. As a result I dropped that crappy activity. I did, however, fall a bit back into it in C-Ville in 2018 as they basically played the entire DC show from the previous night over the course of the two shows in C-Ville (11 on N1! and 7 on N2), except for YNK and Seven...both of which I'd rather have heard than bayou, DDtW, or ANY covers. Still N2 was excellent overall.
Similarly, I did NOT manage my expectations for MPP. I complained to my wife and here, but can look back and realize it was a very good show despite bayou and another AAtW closer.
And I've ranted on here about covers a lot over the last few years. I get that they can be fun for the band and a lot of folks seem to enjoy them, but I've no interest in hearing a single non-DMB tune at a DMB show...zero. It's cool for all the folks here that enjoy them, but no thank you.
