If you like LT 8, you'd like LT 2. It's the only other 2004 show if i'm not mistaken.

LT8 is one of my favorites, but honestly I'm not a huge fan of LT2. Santana guesting is killer, but the band seems a little off on many of the songs. Carter opens with the wrong groove on 41, and then on the Stone he and Roi are off when the groove comes in with the baritone at the very beginning, which personally is one of my favorite moments in any of their songs; they also nail it on LT8. I'm also in the small minority that thinks LT6 is a great release so let the bashing commence.

Yes there are some flubs on LT2 but arguably the best released Joyride, BOWA, and a top notch LIOG. I love DIDO on this as well.Would love another 04 release sometime soon.

I like how they recover on that #41 though! I have no problem with LT 6. That was only the 3rd release I purchased when I was getting into the band, behind Central Park and Listener Supported, so it was the 1st time I heard many songs that I love. One Sweet World, Pig, Bartender, Last Stop, Break Free, etc.

One of the best LTs. Underrated. At SPAC now, can’t wait for this show

For me it was more the sound quality of it being subpar.. If you're stoked to go to SPAC though more power to you..

It's a good performance no doubt.. I remember thinking at the time we were full of mid 90's shows with the DMBlive component still being active.

8 and 13 remain my favorites.I’d have to put 8 just a notch Above 13, and I was actually at 13

    Re: Live Trax 38 - SPAC 1996

I was stoked when this was released, only our 2nd DMB show w/ them as headliners. It was great then and is great now.

Had thought it was the only release of a show we'd been to because I wasn't following the DMBLive stuff. That has them at the Palace in Albany in '95...our first show w/ them (co) headlining (they did close the show though). Roi blew my mind that night. Not syaing it was his best or even a standout performance, but I'd never really heard someone play sax live at that level to that point.

I'd seen Mark Rivera w/ Billy Joel @Yankee stadium in '90, the Chris White w/ Dire Straits @MSG in '85, Scott Page w/ Floyd @MSG in '87, and seen several shows w/ horn sections, but never had I heard/seen a sax as a featured soloist and take extended solos. I had been through music school and fallen in love with Coltrane at that point, but still not gone to any jazz gigs.

So Roi just chopped off the top of my skull and poured music directly into my brain. It was religious.
