Trailer looked good. Appears they may try to tell a smaller scale story similar to the first Iron Man, which would be a good thing to follow up Age of Ultron. I only worry that peoples expectations for this will be pretty high after Guardians and Ultron. Will be there opening weekend.

One thing that will help Ant-Man releasing after Ultron (Since I do believe that could be a problem as far as expectations go) is that it takes place in the past...like the 60's or something. So doesn't have to be all crazy, it can work on its own being simpler like Sharvey said.

Actually I take back what I said about it being in a different time period. Can't remember where I read that and can't find any info online.

You may have misread something along the way. Michael Douglas' character plays the original Ant-Man which was in the 60's I believe, so maybe that's where you mixed things up.

I don't know anything about Ant-Man, but for some reason I have really been looking forward to this and the trailer added to that. I'm a Paul Rudd fan and I also agree that they may be telling a story similar in scale to the original Iron Man. I think Rudd could really be the next Tony Stark-type character for the Marvel Universe.

I'd also be interested to hear how that was. I'm catching up on SHIELD from last season then have to catch up on this season. The show definitely got better after the first half.

Yes you are correct, that clears things up. I am sure they are going to have flashbacks to the 60's when Hank Pym is the original Ant-Man.

I thought it was after the one shot. Pretty sure one of the flashbacks at the beginning was of the one shot.

    I enjoyed it.

Just re-watched the One Shot. Different office/ co-workers but after looking at the MCU Wiki page they claim the show comes before the One Shot.

Much sooner than I imagined, I think this is the start of what could become Spider Man in the MCU.

Antman trailer didn't give too much away, but the little it shows looks good... Agent Carter was a lot shittier than I expected though.

Ant Man didn't get me crazy excited. Then again, I wasn't super excited about GotG the first time I saw that trailer. It took a few before it reeled me in. I'll still go see it opening weekend but I think this might be the first Marvel movie in recent years to not be universally heralded.

I thought it received moderately positive reviews, better than the first one in my opinion. But yeah they are on a pretty good streak right now with Winter Soldier and Guardians.

Is anyone interested in watching one Marvel movie every Sunday until the release of Ultron? Could be fun to talk about the movies week by week, answer questions leading up to the release, and help make the wait a little easier.

    Iron Man- February 22
    Hulk- March 1
    Iron Man 2- March 8
    Thor- March 15
    Captain America- March 22
    Avengers- March 29
    Iron Man 3- April 5
    Thor 2- April 12
    Captain America 2- April 19
Guardians of the Galaxy- April 26

    Ultron- May 1

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

I know there have been other Marvel rankings in other threads, but since we now have an official Marvel thread here's my list:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (one of the best comic book movies of all time. Right behind The Dark Knight Trilogy.)
    Avengers
    Iron Man
    Iron Man 3
Guardians of the Galaxy (maybe before Iron Man 3, but it's still very new to me.)
    Thor
    The Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton)
    Captain America
Thor 2 (just don't remember it too well so not sure if this stands)
    Iron Man 2

I don't know if this is in line with my last list, but this is where it stands now. Bear in mind that I have never read any Marvel comic books so I absolutely loved Iron Man 3. I thought that movie was an absolute blast. But I can see how some may be unhappy with what they did with The Mandarin. From what I understand he is one of Iron Man's biggest foes. I will say if they did something like that with The Joker I'd be pissed. But having never read a single Marvel comic I've been enjoying the ride as each movie comes out. Really looking forward to Ultron and Ant Man!

Are you referring to The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton? Or Hulk with Eric Bana? Because as far as I know Hulk is not included in the MCU. Ed Norton's Incredible Hulk is though. I really liked that movie and think it deserves more recognition. I've never seen the Eric Bana Hulk, but I hear it's terrible. I really wish they kept Ed Norton. Mark Ruffalo is OK, but Norton was so much better. Ruffalo is just so bland sometimes.

I still have not seen the 2008 Hulk movie, kind of shameful considering how much I love the MCU. I am just holding out to March 1st to watch it

Gotcha. Didn't know the difference. I'm referring to the Eric Bana one. So terrible. I haven't seen the Ed Norton one.
