I saw it last night, too and really enojoyed it. Talented vocals...the music obviously drives the whole storyline. AMAZING visual effects, cute ending...
I think the problem w/ the movie was that the songs are just so damn known and untouchable. It was a ballsy move, but I think the fact that it was kind of a 'tribute' to The Beatles rather than a rip-off is what keeps it above water.
I personally liked it a lot. It's a movie I can watch over and over, too.
Hmm... give it a B+, definitely would recommend it.

Well, I think I was kinda pissed at how long it was last night, because I was effing tired. Looking back it, it's probably a C.
Positives: Visually inventive, great songs (though they obviously can't compare to the originals), a couple of really good characters.
Negatives: Had like 4 climaxes, probably a couple too many characters, too long. Also, I thought it was too bad the best character in the movie was stuck in Vietnam for what felt like forever.
Honestly, if they had made the climax of the movie the Strawberry Fields Forever scene, and then wound down from there, it could have been much, much better. That SFF scene is freaking amazing, and one of the coolest things I've seen in quite some time.
Also, how in the hell was that movie PG-13?
Not that it matters, but there were boobies, violence, sex and drugs.
All in all, if this had been a Broadway show, with an intermission and all that jazz, it would have been better.
