New song is good. Much better than DotC. Sounds like it'd be on Backspacer, which I'm fine with.

    Exactly.
Lyrics are no good. The song itself is pretty forgettable. Not holding up much hope for this album.

Apparently the Fan-to-Fan exchange opens at 4:00 PM Eastern, for anyone who’s in the market.

Lovin super blood, but I like songs like dont gimme no lip etc. I’m not sure I’m getting the backspacer vibe, the song sounds fresh to me.

only listened once and not sure how i feel about it yet, but i will say this - i am glad that this song and the last one sound like they're from a band that is exploring creatively again. for better or worse, these sound like nothing they've ever done before.

Ten was a huge breakthrough album that played a large part of a cultural movement. A lot of people stop looking at PJ there because of that, including most radio stations.

When I go back to the studio albums I rarely go to Ten. The songs are classic and great live staples but I'd be willing to say everything they did after Ten through Yield, maybe Binaural depending on the day, is better than their debut.
I liked No Code a lot. It's really disjointed to me on first listen, but still works really well. I'd put it below Yield and Vs and on pretty much the same level as Ten. Gonna try to knock out Riot Act and Lost Dogs today.

VS has more hits, but No Code is an amazing album from a band struggling with fame and many internal issues while being incredibly creative with different styles.

Yield and No Code are perfect albums for the band at that specific time in their careers.

Also, I've said it before in here, but that's why I disliked Binaural so much. They should have made a better album after Yield and it was such a let down. Obviously some bangers live on there but as a complete album, it doesn't compete.

i like Binaural, but i can see what you're saying. IMO the band from 96-03 was their prime

Agreed. I saw them three times on that 03 tour and they just had this energy they rarely recreate unless at special venues.

That was also the first time they didn't work with Brendan O'Brien. I like Binaural, sounds great through headphones and it works for me as an album, but I can see why people don't care for the album as a whole.

No Code is my favorite album and it saved the band. If that album hadn't been made I don't think we'd be talking much about the band these days. Also, my first show was at Alpine in 2003. Had great seats, sec 202 row PP I think. I was walking down the hill to the pav when the band came on and started playing Sometimes. I will never forget that moment, or that show.

Listened to Vitalogy for the first time in probably a year or two this morning. What an incredible album. I can't imagine going to get that after Ten and Vs. It definitely ranks higher than I would've ranked it before the relisten. Doesn't hurt that it has my favorite PJ song (Immortality).

And I'm gonna go out on a limb...I like Bugs.

Has anyone else tried the Fan-to-Fan marketplace on TM for the fan resales? I imagine most of you guys are 10C so you're already set, but I'm trying to land a pair for the Nashville show, and probably 5 or 6 times I've had tickets in my cart and have put in my credit card information, and then I go to hit purchase when it tells me a fan has already beaten me to the tickets. Just tell me right away that someone beat me to it. Don't give me false hope until the last moment haha.

10C member here, and all I have seen over the last 12 hours or so are people bitching and complaining about the Fan to Fan exchange. What you described has happened to a lot of people.

I somehow was able to snag a pair in the club level for the Nashville show as soon as one popped up on the screen right before lunch. Can't wait. Hopefully they can get some of the kinks worked out with the exchange as the show gets closer.

Congrats on all the newbies going to their first PJ shows. Much like DMB, PJ likes to mix up their sets so you never know what the setlist will be, which is cool. And yes, they will leave some songs off of printed setlists and replace with others.

So the million dollar question. Should Dave Abbruzzese have gone in with Pearl Jam into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Why or Why not?

I would say that PJ is a little more predictable in some ways, but the chances of something awesome being busted out at any show is way higher than with DMB.

really, you think more predictable than DMB? That's an interesting take. I mean, I guess usually there's the regular 7 or 8 songs but DMB can play similar setlists too. I guess it varies per nigh but I see your point.
