I think it'd be up your alley; good pacing to the film as well.

Watched Confessions of a Dangerous Mind last night, not sure what to think about it. Loved all the continuous shots and thought Clooney did a great job for it being his first film, and Sam Rockwell was dynamite (as usual), but it kinda just fell flat for me. Part of it might be that I just can't stand Drew Barrymore as an actress.

    The Naked Gun, 33 1/3.

    I can't believe they're rebooting this series.

Last night I watched a couple of movies. First up was Captain Phillips, which I really enjoyed. The last act was really well acted, and the whole movie kept me very interested. Would give it around an 8.5. Then watched We're the Millers. I found it funny and was a nice no brainer type of movie on a Friday night. Probably around a 6.5 or so.

    Flight.

First time viewing. As over the top as Denzel was, I knew a pilot (since passed away) that could've been the inspiration for that film except for the crash. Seriously. So I guess that's why the over-the-top stuff didn't seem that over the top to me. Denzel was outstanding in it; I think it may be his best performance. Wasn't too crazy about the B story of the junkie with a heart, but what the hell... Good film but doesn't help my distaste for flying.

As much as I liked the film overall and agree that Denzel's performance was great, I do remember thinking it was a little weird that first scene where he and the girl meet in the hospital stairwell (also with James Badge Dale), that he seems oddly insistent on knowing her exact address very quickly, and how easily she tells it to him.

Meh, even for B-Horror. Music was weird, and they ripped off the Friday the 13th sound. You know the sound I'm talking about, the classic ch-ch-ch ah-ah-ah.

First viewing. Neat concept, but the execution grated. Most of the movie was watching idiots be act stupid, which doesn't have a huge lifespan with me.

well it's pretty much become a running gag all around the internet since not long after the movie came out those years ago that the more time goes on, the more it becomes a documentary

Yeah, my buddies told me to check it out and said it was hilarious.

I doubted them because I think we have different senses of humor, but they insisted I give it a try.

    Should've stuck with my gut.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

On this snowy Saturday I watched three of the five nominated documentaries; The Act of Killing, The Square, and Dirty War.

The Act of Killing was easily the most powerful, the transformation shown on screen that this guy (forget his name) makes when he realized what he did and the consequences he's going to have to face is amazing. The Square was good but always felt like a step behind the action, almost like a 2 hr long news segment, not on the forefront of the story. a Dirty War was a pretty good piece about our new strategy regarding foreign policy and drones, but felt a few years late and a little thin on the opposing point of view.

I have about 20 minutes left on Dirty Wars. I'm not a fan of this guy. I'm not sure what he wants to document more, the war or himself.

So much this. His ego is very much at the forefront of this doc rather than letting his information speak for itself.

    saw Capt Phillips last night.

Thought the acting was pretty good but the end result was just prolonged.

    Gave it a 7.5/10.
