same here. don't feel as bad about a 2.99 rental if it's something I've been interested in seeing

I do try to keep to streaming where I can, since my backlog there is obviously huge. but sometimes I get inspired to rent something. I also recently acquired a few hard copy DVDs for scorsese completionist purposes

I still can't believe this is actually happening. I'm so excited, but also skeptical. I'm just amazed that he was able to fool anyone as that character given how famous it's become.

Rewatched the last dance in prep for the NBA finals. Wasn't just a product of quarantine, it was a damn fine doc.

I saw this on Reddit the other day, and seeing that title made me completely switch gears and grow a lot more hyped for this movie. To the point that I went back and watched the original that night.

I probably actually will pay the 20 or 30 bucks for this to watch at home. But if it’s going to be at a theatre, I think I will probably go and do that. Seeing Borat in a packed theatre on opening night was one of my favorite theatre experiences ever.

What I have read is that it’s apparently Borat pretending to try and be someone else, because of him now being recognizable.

I just finished up a triple feature of Albert Brooks first 3 films. Absolutely loved all of them.

    Class Action Park:
What a place. I'd like to see a comedy based on it; not the stupid Jackass one.

    Underwater:
It's like it wanted to be The Abyss so bad but just wasn't. Obviously.

    Project Power:
Dumb AF. They didn't build the world enough to make it interesting and the action wasn't even entertaining.

    First One In:
You have to be in the tennis scene to understand how funny this one is. If you're not, it's just going to watch like the awful movie it is.

    The Platform:
Very very surprised at how much I liked this one. Turned it on at like midnight thinking I'd fall asleep ignoring it but it sucked me in.

    Fantasy Island:
Another surprise. Not good, but fun.

    You Should Have Left:
It built tension pretty well but never did anything with it... just dumped it into an incoherent mess.

Barry Jenkins directing a Lion King follow-up based on Mufasa’s origin story is not the news I was expecting today or any other day in human existence. But hey, 2020...

It will be released in Prime Video on October 23rd, which is A LOT earlier than I was expecting it.

I think Gloria Estefan just said on Andy Cohen's talk show that she was cast in Mystic Pizza but didn't want to do it to focus on music so the role went to Julia Roberts.

I bought Rosemary’s Baby for $1 like ten years ago but never watched it until the other day. Not at all what I expected. I thought it was going to be another cheesy old horror movie but it was a lot weirder /darker/ funnier than that.

Top 5 horror movie for me. Hell, it’s in my top 25 for any genre.

Mystic Pizza and Mystic Pizza II (the restaurants) are fucking terrible. Movie is ok, though.

Other People’s Money probably has the worst ending for a great movie ever.

I don’t remember much about Vanilla Sky other than the ending was so stupid it brought the movie down to an F- from a D.
