Yeah. I don’t understand the hate for the song. It was a solid closer. Not my favorite but it’s hype.

I'm still hopeful that we will get a new album THIS year.

Similarly, I'm hoping it's a double album. I've been enjoying hearing the new tunes and finally hearing the Breaks live. Hoping to hear SUaD within the next few weeks and would love for it and several other old songs to be recorded w/ the current line up.

I remember 2 or 3 weeks ago there was talk about a new song debut. Potentially involving a ukulele. Hoping they bust it out for Deer Creek.

I get it. I mean I love to discuss what our hopes are for tracks or production, etc, as related to a new album. But frankly the actual info was so sparse and far too often the thread would be overrun with needless arguments and trolls. For now we can talk about stuff here, and now when there IS something to share, the upping of a new album thread will actually be helpful.

I haven’t listened to an old shotgun in awhile. Just revisited 9.23.06 copperpot edition. My god it’s 100x better than what it is now. Makes a huge difference for Dave’s singing when they slow it down vs the speed it’s played at now.

Pace/BPM are never more relevant in music than with DMB for me.

    - DDtW at its current racing speed and on 10 out of the gate, not something I enjoy or want to hear.
    - Break Free from 2006, is so slow and dragging that I can't get into it at all.
    - WAtM is still great, but I definitely liked it a bit better last year when it was slower...Dave's intro guitar part pulls me in more when it's more relaxed.

What difference does it make? Now the same “needless arguments and trolls” will happen in this thread? I don’t get how it matters.

It matters because they never announced an album. 2+ years in that thread and it was all people being pissed off because supposedly the band owes them something they never formally announced.

Might as well make a thread for the album coming out in 2035.

Checked out a 2013 version. It was too fast then too.

I don’t notice it with DDTW that much maybe because I enjoy both iterations of it. I do agree with WATM. grey street sounds way better the past two years since slowing it down.

I feel like I've seen a lot of comments regarding how intense DDTW is right at the start, seems to be a big issue for a lot of fans

I'm being semantic here, but for me it's actually less intense.

When it was slower and w/o the electric on 11 and fewer instruments in playing it had exponentially more dynamics. Those dynamics and the space made it far more powerful and intense in all the best possible ways.

I actually skipped over the studio version on the way home from Hartford on Sunday as reaction to hearing it live over the last few years. That studio version is golden.

This is far more awesomely intense than any DDtW I've heard in decades:

Listen to the studio DDTW almost weekly because my gf loves it, I think you and I view the topic a little differently but overall would agree it could be more dynamic.

I was listening to the Warehouse 2022 release and for the love of God why is there a 5 minute long trumpet solo? That’s been trimmed down this year, right? It was awful, just the epitome of meandering and go nowhere solo.

Are we sure it was WATM that Dave called Carter in for and said was best song he's written in years? Could it have actually been Madman's Eyes?

    • They play the song almost every damn show
    • It has way more intense drums (I could see Dave thinking this needs Carters input with all of the sections and fills)
    • WATM seems to be losing favor with him

Just would think if you thought it was your best song in years and years you would play it more.

WATM gets tons of plays still. I wouldn’t say it’s losing favor with him.
