We saw six summer shows and five fall shows in 2018. None were "bad", but some were clearly better than others. Between the shows we attended and the live streams (youtube and sirius), Dave's voice was just a little rough during the summer and Buddy was finding and getting his space/places to shine. Some shows had better sets for Buddy than others...songs that either always had predominate keyboards, or where they fit better than others. Everyday premiered with Buddy just a week prior to WBP and has since gotten heavy play, always getting a night during back-to-backs and lost of single night shows. Dave sounded better during the fall tour, stronger, less straining... I think he was nursing some sort of vocal agitation during the summer of 2018 and his voice had been stronger since (he also sounded great w/ Tim in 2017). Buddy's footing just got better and firmer in the fall, and that continued in 2019.
We loved the 2018 shows we saw, but my ears heard Dave fighting more than he had prior and since and you could hear as the tour went on the evolution of the band with a new keyboard player.
