If you look at the pics from last weekend, it's hard to imagine it being much worse than that. And the shows went on.

The smoke in Seattle is a lot better today, but Gorge is halfway across the state. I don't think it will cause a cancellation, but it could certainly affect the amazing scenery.

Is there a solid packing list floating out there somewhere? This will be my first pilgrimage and I want to make sure I'm checking all the boxes. Thanks!

When do I need to enter the venue to be able to get a spot at the front of the lawn?

You'll be good with WH. The people that line up early are going for the best terrace steps spots (and the rail birds, obviously). If you just go in when they open for WH, you'll be able to get a decent spot on the terrace steps or the front of the main lawn.

Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere but I searched and nothing.

I heard from a buddy two things:

    1) Terrace camping has designated sites, the rest just fill in. In other words, if we bought a Terrace camping pass, we have a designated spot and it's ok if we show up whenever.

    2) If 1 is not true, the word is that you need to be there at 3pm the day before.

Anyone know a thing or two about this?
    Thanks in advance.

Wasn’t designated as recently as 2014, they tell you where to park when you get their similar to the other areas, they do make decisions based on size of vehicle, seems lienthr mostly fill the top terraces first, then the lower ones, and the ones out to the sides.

Is there a certain time on Friday that cars are allowed in to the campsites? I don't know if I can get to the Gorge Thursday night, but wondering how early I can get in and settled Friday!

Night zero at the campground is really awesome.

Plus it's just nice to already be there and setup when you wake up on Friday. I think it would suck to have to drive in and setup camp on show day.

For Terrace, you can try and ask for the second highest Terrace (top one is for big RVs), instead of getting stuck out to the side on Friday

    ^^^ this

If you’re coming all the way out here take advantage of a full night at camp to hang out and socialize. It’s one of my favorite nights of the trip

You don't have a specific spot reserved, but you are guaranteed* A spot.

*I heard one year they ran out of Premier spots and had to put people in D9, so overselling or poor space management is a possibility that could result in there not being room. Seems unlikely with Gold though.

this is true, but they've since expanded the fence of premier to encompass the area they used to reserve for premier overflow. So now Premier is like 1/3 of the entire disc of the campground.

First timer Gorge go-er this weekend. My wife and I from Clearwater, FL.
Renting an RV and going on an adventure.
    A few quick questions please..
    1) Gold camping RV, What is the latest time to arrive on Thursday night?
    2) Are bags of ice hard to find?
    3) Can you bring alcohol into the concert, not so much a cooler but a flask?

Any other advice for first timers or an item that I should not forget?

    Thanks

    2. There is a general store at the bottom of Premier that sells ice. It's a trek from Gold though. I'm not sure if Gold has anything on site for ice.
