However, not nearly as bad as 4 years later, listening to Stand Up on my lunch break.
I think as most, I enjoy a few songs here and there as they've transformed over the years.

Me too. Bought it at best buy.. I was in high school and happened to have an offhour that morning... I was almost late to class.
I also remember being so excited that I couldn't sleep the night before. I had only been a fan for 2 years at the time and it was my first studio album release... I was initially disappointed.. But it didn't stop me from listening 100 times that year... And then getting to go to Folsom Field for that show was pretty exciting.... A lot of friends only wanted to hear the old stuff, but I really liked the Everyday/LWS live songs... It was fun..
I think the album has stood the test of time better than expected... It's on it's own though in terms of the catalog.. The production on it, while at the time might have been too commercial and glossy has really aged well.. It doesn't sound over done anymore.. It sounds like a good rock record...
I mean classic songs came out of it. When the World Ends, So Right, Everyday, Fool to think, What You Are.... These are great tunes still...
Dave's guitar work on most of the album is pretty unreal... Fool to Think, So Right, I Did It, WTWE ends, Mother Father... All the riffs are as Dave sounding as it gets... It's just the other production that got away from the DMB sound...
I'll probably listen to it today since I'm thinking about it.
