Finally saw it this weekend. The trailer for SW EpIX was better than the movie.

I kid. I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away by it. Maybe my expectations were set too high based on all of the stellar reviews. Infinity War was better, IMO.

Actually looks pretty good, but I feel like I watched the whole movie there. I absolutely hate when studios do that (and DC is probably the biggest culprit with the BvS Doomsday trailer).

Sony did the exact same thing with Homecoming 1. With the exception of finding out that Vulture was his dates dad literally every single plot point was laid out.

maybe, maybe not. I think it's very possible Mysterio is lying about being from another Earth. not that the MCU isn't going to be doing multi-verse, it's essentially already started anyway, but that he's using that as an excuse. He's absolutely not going to be a good guy in this (or even at worst, an antihero).

for what it's worth, the Russos themselves, who were like Red Skull watching over the Soul stone being so adamant about protecting spoilers for so long, even they said that this past Monday they considered the spoiler ban totally lifted. Obviously not like that's official business or anything, but seemed pretty reasonable to me.
hell I hear even the TV spots that are televised the last few days are like clearly showing things from the final battle. and Ricky's right, it's kind of amazing you got this far to the apparently level that you did.

I don’t know a ton about this group, but the Collider story mentioned this about Ikaris in the comics:

Ikaris himself is a relative newcomer, however, having been born roughly 20,000 years ago. He’s seen the sinking of Atlantis (and Lemuria), battled against Deviants in Ancient Greece

Given the Endgame tease (minor Easter egg spoiler) about trouble in the Atlantic and Scott Derrickson teasing Namor in Dr. Strange 2. I’d love to see Atlantis sink in this movie.

Could serve as an origin story for the X-gene, Celestials (Ego or the giant head that is Knowhere) & Deviants (Thanos was one), Atlantis, etc.

But it’s really meant to be the next Guardians/Avengers type of teamup movie. I don’t know many people who actually care about these characters, but if you told me 10 years ago I couldn’t wait for Marvel’s third tree and raccoon movie? Well, anything is possible.

I'm looking to start an MCU collection. What physical media should I get to get the most bonus features out of my investment? The phase collections? Steel boxes? Just blu-ray, or 4k if available? I know when this hits Disney plus, gag reels and behind the scenes stuff won't be included, so fuck that.

I’m not sure if we’ll get a full Infinity Saga release because of Hulk and Spider-Man. Universal and Sony would have to approve, and Universal/Disney don’t have the best relationship.

Unless they take the overall story-arc in a different direction than 'put everyone together for the final few movies' they probably will be. Aren't they a big part of the next phase?

Pumped we're getting more Zemo. Love him in the comics and he's one of the MCU's best portrayed villains.

as a casual comic fan, i don't think the mcu will grab me until they introduce doom or the next big thanos-type character. i thought avengers 1 was good for what it was, but then they showed thanos at the end; that grabbed my attention and i kept wanting to see how everything tied into whta became infinity war.

they really nailed thanos. the only time he looked bad was in the extra credit sequence where he was putting on the gauntlet.

Six eps sounds like the perfect length for this to be really, really well done. This is the type of stuff I'd like to see regularly on D+.
