Shit yea, man. There are some amazing eps of this show. This was the list I posted in 2017:

#18 - Silence and Respect
#37 - Taking Power
#45 - The Rainbow Pug
#53 - In the Desert
#68 - Vampire Rules
#76 - Lost in a Cab
#79 - Boy in Photo
#91 - The Russian Passenger
#93 - Beware All (Part II of #91.)
#97 - What Kind of Idiot Gets Phished?
#99 - Black Hole, NJ

Here are some since then:

#102 - Long Distance
#103 - Long Distance Part II

#104 - The Case of the Phantom Caller
#111 - The Return of the Russian Passenger
#115 - The Bitcoin Hunter
#119 - No More Safe Harbor
#123 - An Ad for the Worst Day of Your Life
#127 - The Crime Machine
#128 - The Crime Machine Part II
#130 - The Snapchat Thief
#147 - The Woman in the Air Conditioner
#164 - Long Distance: The Real Alex Martin

If you do nothing else in your podcast life, listen to the bold. If you love them, #164 is an update. If you don't love them, throw your phone in a river and never listen to podcasts again.

They were on such a heater, culminating with their best story ever (at the time) with Long Distance. The run from like Eps 91-111 was world class.

I don't really even know what I'm looking for, so apologies in advance for the vagueness, but...

Does anyone have any podcasts that you learned a lot from or something that is just super interesting? I'm looking for something that is a long series or ongoing show that I can learn or better myself because of listening. My first thought was an investment type podcast, but it certainly doesn't have to be that. But using that as an example, I invest a little and have an IRA/401K, etc., but I don't really know what I'm doing. Has anyone listened to an investment/money podcast that has really put them on a great path? Or maybe even just really interesting general knowledge type stuff that I can learn from?

I love PMT and similar entertainment type shows, but I'm going to have a lot of time to listen to podcasts and I'd like to incorporate something educational or interesting and not just another murder mystery. Basically I want to read more, but do it via podcast if that makes sense. Maybe Audible is the correct answer, but curious to hear if anyone has any podcasts that they can suggest. I'm not into politics, as an FYI.

    TIA.

People hate rogan but theres a bunch of really insightful guests. This one with a neuroscientist from UC Berkeley who specializes in sleep is one of my favorite podcasts ever.

Check out Bigger Pockets. they have a podcast that focuses specifically on real estate, and another one more on general financial independence. I've learned a ton. really awesome community as well.

Honks, my favorite podcast probably after Reply All is 99% Invisible. They're typically one-off individual stories but it's usually about something interesting you maybe just didn't know much about, if at all. Sometimes they'll do a mini series about a particular topic. Hard to recommend specific episodes, most are good. Maybe see what the people on this reddit thread suggest.

For anyone who followed the story of Curtis Flowers, he is getting married. A good reminder that no matter how long injustice goes on for, it's always worth fighting to do the right thing. He is about to also be awarded 500k from Mississippi (maximum allowed under current law, 50k a year for 10 years).

Thoughts on Chris D'Elia podcast coming back? I've never been a fan of his so I really don't give a shit; never watched his specials; maybe watched a couple podcast clips here and there. But its interesting to see the outpouring of support for his comeback... I'm sure most of his fanbase is straight, white dudes who don't care anyway though...

You’re Wrong About has been my new favorite podcast. A man and woman talk about events from the 80’s/90’s that we maybe didn’t know much about at the time..whether that’s because of what was told (or wasn’t to) to us or because we were young kids who didn’t care.

I find it very educational and they are hilarious.

The Princess Diana and OJ series are great. Just an example of events I thought I knew all about and apparently didn’t.

It's weird. I really enjoyed the two part Tonya Harding on a road trip last summer, but for some reason none of the other episodes have sounded like things I'd be interested in.

As an 80's/90's kid, this sounds right in my wheel house. Have they touched on Satanic Panic at all?

    Re: Podcasts

We may have talked about this before, but is there a podcast app that also has a website you can be on from your PC and tell it to download episodes to your phone? I know you can usually subscribe to a podcast and that'll sync, but I haven't found a way to tell it to download specific episodes. You can usually just listen online.

I only listen on my phone, but sometimes I wanna be able to browse episodes on my computer and would like to send them to my phone for later. Seems like the only option is to browse and find what I want on the desktop, then pull up the app on my phone and go find those episodes again to download.

It was an audiobook, but highly highly recommend Malcolm Gladwell's "Talking to Strangers", especially if you like non-fiction. Reminded me of freakonomics, which is one of my favorite books of all time. This was basically a podcast, with different interviews and reenactments.

Reply All released a short pod/apology/we're starting over thing today. Sounds like Alex and Emmanuel Dzotsi are the new hosts, but sounds like they are bringing more people into the fold to host and do stories as well. Beginning of June is when they are gonna kick back up.

Maybe Alex can carry it but I just don't see it happening. I suspect it'll be around til September October on a regular basis but will probably be phased out by 2022. Or maybe it'll be awesome, who knows.
