The band could have celebrated it with rare songs played live to 710,215 people.

I'm fine with a limited run of vinyl, I'm even fine with the extra stuff being exclusive to the vinyl. I'm not fine with no other option to buy the music being mentioned officially by management.
The Live Trax vinyl didn't come with a download, it was a different mastering than the digital release so there has not been a digital download made available of the Scott Hull masterings for the vinyl releases featuring less dynamic range compression. There has not been a digital download made available of the Chris Bellman mastering of Crash or Red Rocks 95.

Is that true? I don't recall my pink RSD from Michigan coming with a download card. Red Rocks did. I also don't recall the black LT's coming with a card either. Recently did I believe.

Didn't realize that, as I know nothing about or care about the different mastering stuff. Either way all the RSD music has been released before and in other formats. So I can listen to the professionally mixed tracks. That's all I care about.

The one record I bought from DMB had a code. If the RSD didn't I apologize for my inaccurate statement. The point was no songs have been exclusive to RSD. At this point the DMB LIVE 25 is something not offered in a format I can use. This bothers me.

I thought RR95 came with a d/l code? was that just the original CD master?

I have a bad habit of buying things like this and leaving them unopened in my basement with the expectation that I will sell them at some point. I have yet to sell anything.

I keep fighting the urge to buy this set. Hopefully, it sells out soon.

Not sure how that seller got 2 copies. They cap it at 1. Unless he got a second Warehouse account just to buy a second copy to flip.

    I'm hoping.

I had a fellow Warehouse Member grab another for me.

Hoping to sell that one and pay for mine plus that one.

pretty easily probably, either has two accounts and multiple addresses to ship to or just had a friend with an account order one.

    Yes, this is true.

Having something only available in vinyl is something that Jack White does, but few others I believe..

I can assure that at this moment in time that seller has 0 copies. he is speculating. it happens in every presale of every item. he knows/bets he can get his hands on them for less than what he sells them for.

There's many cases of vinyl only releases. As Doby noted, the LT sets did not have codes and the version of the mastering used is not available digitally for them or for Red Rocks and Crash 20th anniversary release

Oh I'm aware of that. But I do think $300 is right around where the resale value will be in 6-12 months from the release.

I disagree. I think 2500 is sufficient supply. I'm honestly skeptical that they'll sell out, at least immediately.

I'd probably do this if I had a 2nd WH account honestly haha. Maybe that makes me a jerk but anyone who wants it enough can pre-order from the WH and I wouldn't mind a little profit helping to offset the price tag of the one I kept for myself.

2,500 is really not that many. There's a big enough fan base + record collectors who would want this to drive up the price. Look at the % increase of the live trax box sets as evidence. Hell, RR95 had a bigger pressing for RSD on silver (3Kish) and that's sold for as high as $174 and the lowest currently listed on discogs is at $120, which is a 50% higher than the retail price. I have no reason to suspect a different case for this. So just applying the 50%, you're looking at $260ish

you can't just apply a multiplier with no context

those markups were over a fairly reasonable retail price

175 is not a reasonable retail price

YNK is 100% about the speculative selling. Have a friend who does it. Hate that he does.

175 for a "limited edition" with a throw-in book and box is the "premium package" of merchandise sales

you are already paying the scalper's/flipper's premium, you're just paying it directly to the band

That's perhaps valid. But if no digital version comes, I think the $175 starts to look better and better.

$30/disc + $25 for the book isn't really outside of what the vinyl market is around these days. We've been lucky that recent DMB releases have been at a far lower price than comparable releases. I'm not saying the market prices are fair, but the vinyl bubble is real
