played my first round of the season yesterday down in CT. my buddy pete and i went out for a quick 9 while our wives were at a baby shower. it went just about as well as expected. i was 1 over after the first 4 holes (par, bogey, par, par) and then i fell apart the remaining 5 and had nothing better than a bogey
finished with a 48
last 5 holes were BRUTAL; flubs and mishits and bad chips and poor iron play all around
my putting was ok, at least from a gauging distance point of view, but reading the breaks could have been better. didnt hit any putts over 7-8 feet. my short game overall still needs work, especially my wedges. used my 56 a few times and it was 50-50 on whether or not i'd have a good result.
hit my driver pretty well. on the first tee box with a few groups behind us watching, i bombed it 290 straight down the fairway, and thought "great start to the season!" if only i knew that an hour later things would fall apart
