I like parts of it. I like Seven, and Shake me is still a pretty good tune. I am a little tired of hearing the entire album when you go to a two night show. The middle of the album kind of bogs down for me. Still a much better album than Stand Up.

I think technically if you go to two nights you are going to two shows.

When an album's best song is What You Are or If I Had It All, that doesn't bode very well for the album, at least for me.

The album is solid. Some good some ok some I skip. Shake me lost it's muster... Why I am is an upbeat tune I can listen to now and again... I like baby blue, seven time bomb squirm and alligator pie. Dive in is alright. Funny is one I can only listen to once every 6 months. You and me I overplayed. Never really cared for lithog very much and I'm not sure why. I like beachball and little red bird. Spaceman I could do without. But it's overall a good album I think. Let the songs grow on u....oh and p.s I'm praying they play gorge in 2011 cuz it would hopefully be my first gorge trip!!! Please DMB!!!

Songs I liked of BW at first, I'm starting to like even more, but other songs I don't want to listen to at all (Time Bomb and Seven). I really like the album though. I also really liked Everyday too. Sure it had some duds on it, but I liked it overall. (Fool to Think ftw)

I agree, and I can't help but to laugh when I think about how universally slammed this album was for years. Interesting to see people finally coming around to it. Is it a result of not knowing how good we had it with Everyday after hearing Stand Up and Big Whiskey, or do you think in ten years people will say the same thing about Big Whiskey?

Yeah, no doubt. I really enjoyed listening to it at first, but for me, the more i hear it the less i like it. And that doesn't happen with any other DMB album. Including Stand Up.

Good album, yeah, but definitely my least favourite.

Dive In is my least favourite song by the band, ever since since BW came out.

I'll take BW over Everday...EVERYDAY!

I like WYA, So Right, WTWE and The Space Between. Everyday, the song, is hard to like because of 36. The album is poorly produced and most of these songs I would prefer live by miles.

BW, on the other hand, is a terrific studio effort. Most of the songs sound fabulous with the only ones being significantly better live are LITHOG (if you like the jam - studio cut is amazing) and Squirm (horns).

Looking back, I think this album is more about the musical composition and less focused on the lyrics (which is a good and bad thing). They came up with some really catchy and creative riffs for BW. It is the album that got me back into DMB and I will continue to enjoy it.

Good post, I agree with this.

Big Whiskey is a fantastic album from start to finish. Fun to listen to.

Not many songs stick out like they did on other albums but as a whole album it's very good. Sounds kinda stupid but that's how it seems to me.

Not stupid at all... To me, it doesn't have that "I really love this song and I hope they play it", but overall a solid album.

true, I can put it on and listen to it all the way through, but rarely will I pick one or two songs from it to listen to. I think LITHOG and baby blue are the only two that I listen to on their own occasionally.

To me, it just gets better. Although, to be honest, I haven't listened to the studio tracks in a long time. I usually stick to live, anyway. The only song I really do not like is "You and Me," but even that has a great jam toward the end live!

I haven't listened to this album in a while but I just did now and I gotta admit, I think it's a very, very good album. I don't think it's near the Big 3 or Busted Stuff but it is absolutely SO much better than ED and SU.

IMO, this is a very important album in this band's history. In a way, it shifted the band in the right way. SU and ED didn't fare too well so the fact that this album is much better than those two is HUGE in this band's legacy.

Yes, my interest in this album has declined.

Most albums grow on me over time and I actually like them more. This was the case with both "Crash" and "BTCS".

However, BW has gone in the other direction. I think it is a decent album, but compartively speaking it is not their best effort.

It's just very Immature in comparison to their early works(with the exception of LITHOG, Squirm, and Baby Blue), Though many songs off everyday and stand up were immature as well.
