I hear you. For me, the 41 intro totally bothers me because it sounds like he runs out of air midway through

Nice, that song does not get a lot of love around here. I think it's a pretty bad ass song, but it's just been overplayed since I've been following them. I enjoy it a lot more in small doses

I'm with you. Its underrated as a studio track. When played live (and overplayed live) Dave can never deliver the vocals so it gets messy fast, but I always thought Seven was one of the bands catchiest tunes of recent memory. Its in the top third of BWATGGK for me.

Seek Up should have been released in it's entirety on R2T.

Agreed. And I appreciate you representing a great album for your profile pic He has a frustratingly underrated catalog.

    Ain't nothing wrong with that.

I had a serious infatuation with that song for a while then I saw it like 4/5 shows in a row or something. Got burnt out on it. Still a fun song though.

    Listening and DLing right now.

Serious thanks for this gift. This one of those tunes that just locked in my ridiculous appreciation of DMB.

Fuck, it's so good...you can hear everything. I love raw (as in streamlined) production, ideally I just want a single take of everyone playing to together. As Ani said:

"People used to make records, as in the record of an event, the event of people playing music in a room."

The idea that we needed to compartmentalize everyone and manufacture a version of a song that a band is then to play for real live has always been stupefying. It's still how they record orchestras and orchestral music, a lot of jazz, bluegrass, and blues. The technology developed for recording music has become a crutch for many as opposed to just being tools to make the process more efficient.

Yes. We didn't get back to seeing hte band until 2015 after not seeing DMB for more than a decade. So we missed great tours loaded with BW and/or AFtW songs. Would love to hear more.

I don't think it's an accident or surprising that SU is being a featured a bit more...regardless of whether one likes the songs, they are easier to play and mess around with so many of the band''s other songs. Maybe a better way to break in an additional/new musician (or potential new member). That said, it's bullshit that SU is being as featured as it is. However, it's not enough to make one dismiss how great the band sounds on the rest of the songs in a set. But you can't close a show with Bayou...especially after a near two-hour rain delay...which was really my only problem with the show itself.

Haven’t listened to that Seek Up DL yet. Is it the studio cut + the studio outro that fades in after Christmas song?

Yeah, this isn't from anything. Just my own edit of Seek Up & Christmas Song from R2T.

Thinking about editing a LWS BEF -> Bartender now that I've been listening to an alternate track order for that album.

That's a heavy stance you're taking. Some of the best music ever made was recorded in individualized takes and heavily produced.

I don't think I would say either is better than the other, they are such different processes it's almost two separate skill sets.

    First attempt.

This one isn't nearly as exciting as the Seek Up (Extended) was.

I had to elongate the Bartender intro note a little longer in order to get it to work. If you think it's acceptable, I'll spit them into two tracks.

I've been messing around with BYAH trying to find a way to shorten it and fit it somewhere on the LWS - as a hidden track or a musical segue - but anyway I splice it or try to make it work falls flat on it's face.

Angel is a really enjoyable song and would probably be much more appreciated if it didn't have the Ladies and the "I call you up" line.

They need to bring it back.

If I got a +12 minute Angel with the LL, I wouldn’t freak out, I might tune out after a bit but I wouldn’t throw a tantrum either.

I always dug Santana's solo on Mother Father and initially thought of that song as the "epic track" from ED. Couldn't wait to see it live.
