eBay has worked great for me...most of my LPs are either directly from the band or from an eBay seller (Aural Exploits). Now has a direct website: http://www.auralexploits.com/

One of the biggest vinyl spots online. Has had cool, exclusive deals with several records (Eddie Vedder solo album, new Elliott Smith re-issues, etc.). Easily the best eBay seller that I've dealt with...great deals as well.

Likewise...I completely spaced the 10c sale and missed out. Although buying Yield is higher on my PJ vinyl priority list at the moment.

I went to a local record store yesterday and picked up the Whiskeytown double LP and LCD sound system. I'm surprised I made it out with only buying those two albums, they had a ton of stuff I wanted to get (but no $$ for it).

I mainly collect all things Ryan Adams on vinyl. I have just about every official release, 7" single, ALT cover, etc but a few of the rarer ones. I need to pick up the new Heatbreaker 2LP and Whiskeytown's 2LP

I also have DMB's BTCS on vinyl. I'd love to get my hands on Elliott Smith's earlier albums (original not re-release underlined).

All this talk of vinyl makes me want to watch High Fidelity.

I've been searching for BTCS...for relatively cheap . Also bought Easy Tiger a while back, and Ryan Adams is great to listen to on viny

Good luck! I was able to pick mine up for $20 by total luck a few years ago. It typically hits $200-250 on eBay and for those prices I've contemplated selling it.

Speaking of RA on vinyl, pick up a copy of Cold Roses. Its' life changing.

That was my next purchase, unfortunately when I went into the record store I had enough money for Electric Mud by Muddy Waters and Easy Tiger...I would have had to pass up Electric Mud to get Cold Roses and I wasn't prepared to do that . next time I am in Houston I'll drop by and get it.

Someone in the Ryan Adams thread had a break down of which albums to get depending on which music route you wanted to take for RA (his country stuff or his rock stuff). I personally started at the beginning (Heartbreaker) then got Easy Tiger, then Jacksonville City Nights, then Cold Roses (of course all of them on CD so I'm going to have to get them on vinyl)

I say get them all but if you want 1 or 2 then definately pick up Cold Roses on 180g and the re-release of Heartbreaker on 180g. Those albums are amazing on vinyl.

That is definately an excellent deal. Just note that the re-release of Gold and Demolition have had issues. I've heard reports of warped vinyl from both. The other 3 records are in fine shape though.

If that's the case then get Gold and Rock N Roll.

Either way you can't go wrong with RA.

Where do you guys get recently-released LPs? My collection is mostly 50s - 80s and I don't have anything from the 90s. Is there a website you can go to to get some recent stuff?

Some bigger record stores have them. I know the Virgin attached to the Rock n Roll hall of fame does, so other places should. And you can get a lot of them online. I know a lot of bands are starting to put out every release in vinyl.

www.musicdirect.com - They have just about everything. eBay is also another great place to find records new and old.

Hey, Ryan. Did they put 10,000 days on vinyl?

I had undertow and am looking at replacing that and picking up Lateralus, too.

A good place to look is in the phone book for an independent record shop. There's a good chance you'll find some there. We have one here that's downtown, they stock just about anything that's new and issued on vinyl.

anyone know of a website where you can list your collection and also your want list (this option would be especially helpful so my friends/family will know what lps i'm looking for if they see them or want to buy me a b-day gift or something).

i guess i could just create my own Geocities website with said lists but that would take too much time.
