The first sentence I believe. The second sentence I don't. Would be a ticket nightmare.

Les Schwab still hasn't announced anything for LD Weekend, and from looking at the past couple years, usually they had announced someone by now.

I can see it being their PNW stop, but there's no way the full band would play their only shows of the year in an 8k capacity venue.

Yea that makes no sense. If they were going to play full band over Labor Day weekend, why wouldn't they just keep their Gorge spot?

Solely for the purpose of playing devil's advocate, they might have given up the LDW Gorge spot but are now considering doing something and the weekend is taken. Or at least Sunday is.

Thought about that too. Even if they did give up Gorge by accident, I would think they would know the magnitude of the only DMB shows of the year, and would choose a bigger venue elsewhere. They don't have to play the PacNW over Labor Day.

Lots of people would be willing to travel if they're the only full band shows. They would likely sell out the Gorge this year if they had kept it for full band, so it makes no sense to play an 8k venue. They could probably sell 30k+ tickets per show almost anywhere, and I don't see them wanting to create such an exclusive event.

It makes absolutely no sense that they would take the entire year off, except for a 1-off weekend, where they have to get the crew and all the equipment to Oregon over Labor Day Weekend.

And the thought they would pick an 8K venue is also ridiculous. They could sell more tickets with 2 shows at the Gorge than 3 shows in Bend. And why not a bigger venue like Shoreline? To say it would be a ticket nightmare is putting it mildly. If they played the year's only 3 shows at the Gorge, that would be a ticket nightmare. This would be that times Four!

I could see the Bend people trying to negotiate full band. They won't get it, though, for the numerous reasons mentioned above.

As you can see by my post count, I don't comment on here often -- mostly in the Tickets thread. I thought I would pass along some credible info I got while in Mexico since this thread has been helpful to me in the past. Do with the info as you will.

Nobody is doubting the Bend rumor, since that makes sense. Even that it's Labor Day Weekend, also seems possible too. Those 2 things combined with the "full band" info, is what does not make a whole lot of sense. So that's what makes the info seem more questionable.

Since you're the one who heard it, how much stock do you put into the "full band" part?

1. Is this hypothetical weekend going to be at Les Schwab or at some various park/larger venue

2. Did you get your info from someone directly involved with the band?

On one hand I would be happy to get a full band show or shows, but on the other hand I would be insanely upset that they are playing and passed on gorge. In order for me to believe that there will possibly be a full band show this year, it would have to be because the band only recently changed their minds. Maybe why they waited to announce second leg of the tour??? Feel My Vibes

Yeah there isnt any way a full band show is happening in Bend, OR as the only one of the year. To even entertain that idea is pretty silly.

Very likely a D&T show would happen there though, that does make sense.

I'm preparing myself to be declined even if it's just D&T. It's still going to be a tough ticket. *If it happens, of course.

Another thing that leads me to believe Bend for LDW is that, for at least the last 3-4 years, Dave has brought his family to the Gorge. They did the road trip from Berkeley>Bend>Gorge in '14, the next year they were at CO>Gorge, and last year I believe they were back at Berkeley before going to Gorge. Seems they like to spend that week together, and my guess is because schools up here often don't start until after LD.

I posted something a couple months ago about 3 nights in Bend. It was from a friend of a friend, who I happened to meet in person last Friday. This person coordinates stage stuff/lighting, etc for the Les Schwab Amphitheater. I heard, from his mouth, that "Dave Matthews" was coming this Summer, and it's just a matter of getting everything finalized - which of course could always fall through. Take that for what it's worth.
