Along the same lines as when they try to dunk on Joe by talking about the absurd amount of drugs that have been seized at the border. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d rather they stop that shit at the border.

Climate change question for Antiramie and Mthawk.
Do you think this is an unusually dry summer for Florida?

In N Fl we are having more days not featuring afternoon storms. We are still getting enough rain, but there is a noticeable lack of daily rain.

    Quote:
”There was nothing I would have preferred more than to have this baby,” said Davis, 36. Instead, she prepared herself to pay an estimated $5,000 for an abortion at the hospital.

But that’s not what happened. Even after doctors at the hospital said they would provide an abortion once she got the diagnosis of acrania, a rare and fatal condition, from a specialist, the hospital called to tell her it would not be able to do it, she said. The hospital directed her to a Florida abortion clinic instead, or to carry the baby to term.

Davis' predicament illustrates the gray area in Louisiana's new abortion law and the administrative regulations that attempt to explain it to medical professionals and the public. They all but forbid abortion, except to save the life of the mother or when the fetus is "medically futile," according to a list of conditions issued by the state.

Acrania does not appear on the state’s list of accepted conditions for abortion.

I dunno about the entire summer, but the past 2-3 weeks here have been REALLY dry. The data backs it up too. From Aug 1-16, the state has only gotten 28% of its average monthly rainfall, which is about half of what it should be. If I'm reading the rainfall for the past 12 months correctly too, it looks like that's at about 83% of the cumulative average too. So it's been a relatively dry past year too.

    https://www4.swfwmd.state.fl.us/RDDa...al_summary.pdf

It seems like it's hotter too. So not only are we getting less rain lately, but the ground dries out way quicker. I don't remember having to ever put my sprinklers on in August, but I've had to run them two separate weeks in the past month.

Some northern FL counties at close to 10% of the average monthly rainfall through 16 days. Yikes.

Recent article about increasing temps over the next few decades.. it’s going to be a bit uncomfortable.

    https://www.axios.com/2022/08/15/ext...global-warming

A new study reveals the emergence of an "extreme heat belt" from Texas to Illinois, where the heat index could reach 125°F at least one day a year by 2053.

The big picture: In just 30 years, climate change will cause the Lower 48 states to be a far hotter and more precarious place to be during the summer.

I've said it before. What she (they) are saying is that the border is too "soft" and thus people try to cross. We need to turn it into a fucking war zone/parking lot/pew pew pew the bad guys on sight...that'll stop them from even trying to fucking come over. If it wasn't an "open border" they wouldn't try. Fucking time to unalive these fuckers. ASAP.

I was reminded today of the horrific Tuskegee experiments that were done on black people who had syphilis and not sure I realized that was a contributing reason as to why some in the black community were vaccine hesitant. and really who could blame them.

My nephews wife from Poland has to go back because she has the wrong visa, they won't let her fix the issue here. My mom is furious that they are kicking her out of the country. I said "this is the result of you get when voting for politicians who demand strict border policies.". Her response was, they need to be strong on the thugs and rapists and murderers coming in from Mexico, not people like (our niece). I just walked away. Rules for thee and thine not me and mine.
