Re: *** Official Deer Creek 2018 ***

I'll be doing deer creek this year since there's no alpine.

Is that Holiday Inn the closest hotel to the venue? Looking for a shuttle or something within walking distance that isn't camping, and with my drinking habits I shouldn't drive after the shows.

Any recommendations would be helpful.

I have the Holiday and Cambria booked right now so curious to hear answer too. Holiday slightly cheaper with work discount.

We always stay 25-30 minutes away, but if you can't drive after the show then I don't know how helpful this suggestion is!

I'm thinking either one of those will work. About a 20 minute walk. But sleepy bear campground is right there so I can't imagine the walk is terrible.

Can't decide if I should request at all for these shows. How difficult will it be to snag some sort of reserved seats if not on public sale then somewhere on the boards? Do these tickets popup?

I am used to stalking ticket boards, normally just for Alpine though. So I'm used to the elusive tickets, just trying to gauge how tough these can be.

Been staying there for years - we usually get there early on Thursdays so there’s plenty of shade and they’re lenient with space.

I believe the shuttle service was free in 2016 and I don’t remember there being a fire.

It’s laid back for the most part - I think I’ve only seen them have issues when people were setting off fireworks in their campsite and stuff like that.

Spaghetti after the show on Saturday and they generally have ice and whatnot pretty available throughout the weekend.

I love it there but I haven’t camped anywhere else in years so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Planning on being there again this summer!

I think I'm putting premium for both. Someone who goes here a lot told me there are still drops. I think the pav might be slightly smaller though. I have only been in the lawn (group of 20). Also checking out Foo Fighters at the end of July so I'll get lots of DC

Great to see this thread again... I haven't logged in here in a few months. Barely listened to any DMB since 2016 really.

Looking forward to these shows - will likely be my only 2 this year with baby #2 coming this spring.

Shoutout to all the fools from the 2010 thread still around!

I've never requested premium and don't think I will at all this year either. I don't have a problem sitting lawn N1 if I have to, but would rather have pavilion both nights.

I just know there are a lot of people like me who count on Alpine each year who are now instead hitting DC. Not sure if it's enough to push the demand that high though.

My favorite 3 in Indy are Daredevil, Black Acre, and Deviate. None of which are convenient to the venue. Daredevil is cool because they do Crowler fills and they have lots of tailgating friendly beers. Honestly one of the best breweries right now is the downtown Rock Bottom as they are absolutely nailing the NE IPA style. But again it’s not very close to the venue. There is a Crown Liquors store in Olio rd. In Fishers that will have a a pretty good selection of beers...not very far from the venue. There is also a Crown Liquors in Noblesville with a decent selection. I highly recommend a short drive to Carmel for lunch and beers at Pint Room. They usually have an awesome beer list full of quality hoppy beers, stouts, lagers, sours....really versatile. Get the bar bacon as an appetizer. Happy to answer any more questions

Also, we got a Portillos in Fishers last fall. Incredible Italian Beef sandwiches and burgers. Not real far from the venue at 116th and SR 37.

WhAt hotels or areas do you stay at or recommend? First timer coming from MN and don’t mind staying a little away to avoid the high priced hotels.

Is the tailgate pretty good or strict? Have read it both ways.

Check hotels on 96th St. and 82nd St. off of I69. About 15 minutes from the venue, easy location to get to.

I'm requesting both nights. I figure if I get crap seats I can always unload them later.

I figured it would be about the same cost as buying a tent/camping gear. I did a hotel instead, but maybe next year I'll do camping instead.

Just checked Livenation and TM for Deer Creek event pages/ticket links and they are not in the list of tour dates. Just kind of odd. Go to the venue Livenation page and DMB show is not on the list of upcoming events

I'm also in the boat of adding Deer Creek with no Alpine. Can anyone recommend at Hilton based hotel near the venue that is close to a freeway and has a Target/Walmart near by for supplies? Thanks in advance.

I booked the Embassy Suites as well just to have it in case, though my plan is to camp. Looks almost brand new and about a mile from the venue. It was substantially cheaper than the Cambria too (Cambria was $269 for a single King, booked Embassy for $198 Hilton Honors rate directly through the hotel website - cheaper than what it was listed on hotels.com, etc.)

The bolded. Super easy to get to and not too far from the venue. As far as tailgating, we have never tailgated here. But from what I see it is always pretty fun and not too strict.

Yes, it's not open yet. I called the number to see if they had a shuttle. She said she didn't know yet because they weren't open yet. But she said it's a 20 minute walk.
