Twin Peaks

My love of all things David Lynch has lead me to this show, and after downloading a handful of episodes, I have to say...I am hooked. I've got the first nine episodes, and I can't seem to get anymore, and rumor has it the second season won't be on DVD until September.

Anyway, did anyone watch this show when it was on? It's a shame ABC cancelled it after the second season, as it was a very intriguing show. I think it would fit very well on a station like FX nowadays.

I watched Fire Walk With Me last night for the first time. I didn't understand some of it (like the whole thing with David Bowie), but I still enjoyed it. David Lynch has this FEEL to his movies/show that is just awesome. I wish that second season would come out already.

The movie is in just about every $5.50 bin at WalMart. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it was filmed 10 years after the show and used many of the same actors. While you can conceivably use a 20-year-old as a high-school student, 30 is stretching it a bit. Especially when the movie takes place BEFORE the show picks up.

I remember when this show premiered. It was great, but after a couple of seasons it just turned into some freaky stuff.

If you haven't already, go get Blue Velvet - a true classic.

I thought it was awesome. Lynch has this way of pulling an actor's creepiest performance out of them. Wild at Hear was Willem Dafoe, Lost Highway was Robert Blake, and Blue Velvet was Dennis Hopper. The scene after Kyle McLaughlin punches him ("PRETTY! PRETTY! PRETTY!") was great.

I was a devoted watcher of that show when it first came out, I loved everything about it. The quirky characters, the music, although towards the end of it's run it kind of lost me.
To this day one of the most weird, disturbing movies I have ever seen was David Lynch's "Eraserhead"
That guy is definitely out there

I think a lot of people didn't like that it became a character study of the people in Twin Peaks more than a murder mystery. That, and the crazy shit Lynch threw in there. The midget in the Waiting Room, the backwards talking stuff, and the giant, to name a few.

I just rented Muholand Drive the other day and watched it. I thought it definetly had a pretty eerie feeling to it and was pretty good but it was a little unclear, actually a lot unclear...actually, what the hell was that movie about?

    A) That's a good movie that I really enjoyed.
    B) I have no idea what it's about.
    C) Or, I do have some idea what it's about but I'm unable to express it.

(This is how most things Lynch make me react, btw)

Mulholland Dr. is a dream, for the most part. I figured most of it out by the 5th viewing, but the following website (which is amazingly helpful) helped fill in the details.

This was on during I think my freshman or sophomore year, I did see it when originally broadcast. Joke is I have the whole series on DVD but haven't watched since.

The thing though about the "canceled too soon"... wasn't there a sort of built in relatively short time limit on this series the way it was conceived. I mean there's plenty I don't remember, but so what, are you telling me if this thing had gone even as many as 4 seasons, we wouldn't have learned the murderer of Laura Palmer until then?

The first scene when Laura's mother finds out is just....intense. Very powerful in a weird, crazy way.
