sorry i couldnt find the “official” thread!

we checked into Moon Palace - Nizuc today. such a great resort. great food & friendly/helpful staff! cant do this often so it’s a one off trip for us❤️

we were just relaxing on the beach reading today and heard dave singing... but what would we would expect? everyone is playing him... then i look to my right and see stage lights... they are sound checking!!!

we walked down the beach at the barricades at the back of the venue there were about 30 people listening in. so we got on hammock and got a nice tease for the weekend ahead!!

missed their first but caught this sound check set:

Since the soundchecked songs have a fair chance of getting onto a setlist I 'spoilered' your posts. Of course with three nights of D&T you can pretty much count on just about everything showing up in the setlist.

For some reason (maybe the exclamation points) I was expecting something insane. Though, I bet you're just super pumped as I would be. Enjoy the weekend! Wish I was there, no matter the set.

Really glad they're putting in some extra work to make sure the staples are tight and right in line! I just love that crisp sound..no rarities this wkd please

While I can't speak for D&T, watching bands soundcheck at Dominican Holidaze a couple of years back was arguably the highlight of the trip.

They would start a song, play for about 20-30 seconds. Stop. Their sound techs would come out and make adjustments. Then they'd start again. Stop. Repeat.

Then they'd play the full song. 5-6 song set. It was great.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that these people and their crews are consummate professionals, and A LOT of time and effort goes into the productions--even when it just appears to be two chill dudes relaxing and playing music.

Also as far as your last post goes I agree completely, while it is fun to be performing everything else leading up to it for performers and crew is a ton of work.

Are people really complaining? I see the songs are the same songs he's been playing for the last several Mexico trips, saying it's nothing special isn't a dig, it's an accurate observation. Regardless, D&T is the superior product right now and I'd be happy seeing them playing anything.

I know you were, but while I wouldn't say it's terrible, it's nothing special and they're all staples we've heard for years.

#2 and #6 are way better D&T but yeah that list is all pretty standard. I will say though the D&T Mexico sets really haven't been cookie cutter in past years.
