Only you can find that out.

Not sure why you'd need it though...

What are you using it for?

Ah, wait. Is it asking for your "local IP" or does it just say IP?

You can find your real IP here: http://www.webyield.net/domainquery.html , but it may want your local IP.

Local IP's vary. They're usually this: 192.168.1.X, where X equals what computer it is on your home network.

I'm not so experiences with this but when I was converting the 6-18-05 show from shn to wav after going through all the torrent stuff, the last 6 or 7 songs on the mkwACT were said to have failed to be decompressed. Does this mean I have to go through the torrent download again?

Are you sure the show was 100% complete?

All you have to do is start the torrent again and point it to the folder where your shn's are. It will continue downloading. If the files are still giving you errors, just delete those files only and the program will just re-download them. You won't have to download the files that are OK.

Start the torrent again and point it to the folder where the rest of the files are. If the folder is still in the same place as where it downloaded, you don't even need to point. It'll just start downloading those files automatically.

If you deleted the torrent file just re-download it.

I think your harddrive may be full. That's probably why you couldn't convert the other files to .wav.

    Re: The BitTorrent Helper Thread

Ok, this is starting to grate on my nerves a little. Truthfully, it has been quite some time since I have felt like this much of an idiot. Here are my concerns.

As stated before, I have read up quite a bit on the rules and faq's of Bit Torrent. So, the last thing I want to do is get banned or blacklisted. When downloading I'm getting some pretty decent speeds (350-420kbs). I have downloaded two shows thus far without a hitch. The problem occurs once the file drops down into the seeding window. The uploads stall to between 1-10kbs. And I keep getting that yellow frown face, which teels me that my ratio sucks and people are unable to connect to me. The reason why this is so irritating is that both times after downloading a show, I have left Azureus open all night long, only to come back and find out that I haven't done squat for my ratio.

After reading through the faq, I went back on and did a port test for 6881, and I keep getting NAT error. So, I proceeded to Uninstall Zone alarm, Uninstall Azureus, and then re-install Azureus. Ran a test and WHAM! Same frigging problem. Which brings me to portforwarding. Here are my questions.

    1. We have three computers in the home on broadband. I am running my computer on an OvisLink Air Live Wireless USB Adaptor. Could this be a factor in contributing to my NAT error issue? I went into it's settings and found nothing about portforwarding, so I am completely baffled. Also, when I went to the portforwarding website, did not find my Ovis Link model on there. So, this leads me to believe one or two things. Either it is not a wireless adaptor issue, or they don't cover my model, which means I'm screwed.

    2. Also, when I click on options in Azurus, it has 6881 as the incoming port. Under this it says "bind to local IP address." That part is blank. Is it simply a matter off just plugging my IP address in the space, click save, and then the issue will be resolved? I mean, I really don't know what else to do. After literally spending hours reading about this stuff and getting nowhere, I'm at my wits end with it.

I am thankful and appreciative for any insight you could provide me with, Dr Strangelove.

Here is my ratio: 0.167 upload: 302,52MG download: 1.78GB

This is certainly a far cry from the 1:1 ratio that you mention in your faq.

    Re: The BitTorrent Helper Thread

It's just odd that you're getting those great d/l speeds and bad upload speeds. Are there any peers on that particular torrent? Or a really low number of them? If there are 15 seeds and only one peer, then all 15 seeds are sending bits to the 1 peer, so your speed will be pretty low.

If that's not the case then I'm really not sure. You're getting the NAT error so...

Also check your wireless's website. They very well could have some helpful info about this. There most likely is a firewall built in, since it's a router.

Assuming you don't have a firewall, though, before you go nuts looking through everything on their site, plug in your local IP where it asks for it and see what happens. Again, since you're on a network, that number will most likely be 192.168.0.X where X is the number your computer is on the network. If you don't know that just plug in 0 and try, then 1,2 and 3. If none of those work, see if you can get your real IP (from that site I linked or google for an IP finder) and try that.

Then I'd say plow through the manufacturer's site.

Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful. I know it can get frustrating, trust me.

Norton Firewall? Just add it to allowed programs, if you know how to do that. I don't use it, so I don't really know how to go about that. If that doesn't work, just shut the program down.

Hello! I hope and pray someone can help me before I toss the computer out the window!! I finally figured out how to download a bittorrent show. I got FLAC installed. I uploaded for 3 days (still don't have a 1:1 ratio...but THREE days!). But when I try to decode in FLAC, I'm getting: ERROR while decoding metadata state=FLAC_STREAM_DECODER_END_ OF_STREAM

Can anyone tell me where my problem lies???? I REALLY want this show!!!

    Thanks so much!!

You check them AFTER you decode them, right? By hitting "test"? I did that and the same error came up.

I really, really appreciate your offer, but I'm such a big DMB fan that I hope to figure out this whole process so I can download other shows.

What should I do now? Delete everything and start over??

No, you need to check them before you convert them.

If something is wrong with a file or two, you can just start the torrent up again and it should re-download anything that's missing.

Just wait a few minutes. It'll work again. The tracker still thinks you're connected and won't let you start again. This usually clears in 10 or so minutes I think.

It means you're connecting, but not connecting to well, to put it in simple terms. Go to Tools and do the NAT test. Chances are you're behind a firewall. See if the first post in the thread is any help if that's the case.

    Sure, no problem.

Go through the original post in this thread and see if that helps.
