on first listen I thought it was one of the worst songs I've heard in my entire life....its grown on me a little after a few more listens, one of their worst songs for sure...sounds like a Dave Matthews song, not a Dave Matthews Band song.

It is a Dave Matthews song, he’s the only one on it. I dont understand why no one has issues with Dave taking e1 solo slots at band shows, but get all bent over 1 solo track on an album.

This is not a good comparison at all. This is a band album and we only get about 13 real songs on it. And we’ve been waiting 6 years. I’m ok if it’s just Dave and a guitar for one track. But if you’re going to have this sort of song...use the damn band

I see where you’re coming from, but for me personally it’s always been Dave first band second so I’ve never been offended when he’s done things alone or his way. At the end of the day, far fewer would go see the band without Dave than with. He’s the creative force and the glue, nothing works without him and certainly not without him being inspired to create. The worst thing that can happen is Dave becoming uninspired, so to see him taking risks and trying new things, that’s always a positive in my book.

First few listens I just thought it was weird. Listened to it on repeat while running this morning and now love it. Still weird and should be on a Dave solo album, but I dig it.

I think because it's a terrible song. I don't remember anyone having a problem with solo Belly Full or solo Baby Blue being on albums; because those were good songs.
If you're going to put a shitty, shitty song on there, at least do it full band to give it a chance of having some redeeming quality. "Well this song is garbage, but Jeff's horn part is pretty cool" for example.

SOOOOOO much better than the album version! Why??? WHY!? Couldn't they at least throw some horns in the album version to add that great extra color to the song?? That's exactly what I hoped they'd do with the song live... now they just need to extend the jam and I'll definitely love this song. It will be great to dance to live.

Agree with this. I think it’s just the nature of this recording, multiple producers and locations. Dave said something to the effect of they’re putting out an album for whatever reason people still do that. Based on his AFTW commends, he clearly wants the album to be good, but he certainly knows that their music needs to breath and grow in a live setting.

For as much as people complain about this song, is it really that much worse than Little Thing/An Another Thing? I prefer Little Thing and think that it’s prettier (for lack of a better term) and delivered better. But, it’s a story. It’s not overly creative in that sense. Most people just like it because it’s old. It’s 3 min of Dave having fun vocally. Somewhat similar for me.
