Come Tomorrow, the song, debuts in Texas

Already clocked at over 9 minutes in rehearsal by JustinK

Come Tomorrow is long (over 9 min) with a a huge Jeff solo to end it.
And there is a Jazzy Jam that was the highlight of rehearsal - all improv.
A number of jams were improvised, and this might be the influence of Buddy Strong - getting the band to stretch their legs again.
That has me excited.

Both of those bolded things has me excited!

That said...I REALLY am not sure how I'm going to enjoy songs as much without the violin though. I hope they always have a guest violinist.

I think it'll be like LiTHOG in that it will be much better in the live setting than on the album.

This baby won't be near 9 minutes on the album. I wonder what it actually clocks in at. Maybe a similar runtime to B&BB?

i think people forget back to the days of Butch, that the keys can assume many functions... backing, solos, etc.

Trust me Buddy Strong is going to be taking a bunch of Boyd solos, maybe not just yet, but as the summer goes on, after a few shows

but it gets me excited about the fender rhodes and keys!

as long as he doesn't pull an electric guitar sounding synth like Butch did that times on watchtower....

Music seemed ok on first listen. Extremely cheesy lyrics yikes. feels like the dive in of this album.

This one has better audio, I kinda like the lyrics but a lot of it sounds placeholder.

But the band's arraignment is probably the best thing about this song. I can def see where the lyrics still needed help so they shortcut w Brandi Carlile.

Sounds like Buddy Strong playing an obvious strong Boyd line over the chorus. Buddy-Boyd-stand-in-non-violin-keyboard-replacement-dude confirmed...

Come Tomorrow Lyrics (My best stab at them)

    Old man stumbles ...?
It's all going to hell and the whole world is broken
Little kid is busy making plans
Save the whole world along with that old man

As far as I can see,
A better way for you and me,
Is to let the children run the show,
Not too long and we'd be good to go

All girls and boys will sing
    come tomorrow we get everything
so as long as we survive today
come tomorrow we gunna find away

Yes as far as I can see,
we should let the children lead the way.

    Bang bang you're dead ....?
I'm not a man to smoke come on let's make it real
Ya bridges burn but tomorrow is another day
To feel the world and go outside and play

Yes farmers farm and dancers dance
lovers love and fire fighters fight
let the children lead the show
not too long and we'd be good to go

All girls and boys will sing
    come tomorrow we get everything
so as long as we survive today
come tomorrow we gunna find away

Yes as far as I can see,
we gotta let the children lead the way

    Storms will rise out of
    innocent skies
    times will change
when your let the children play

All girls and boys will sing
    come tomorrow we get everything
so as long as we survive today
come tomorrow we gunna find away

All girls and boys will sing
    come tomorrow we get everything
so as long as we survive today
come tomorrow we gunna find away

This one is waaaay more bearable than some others. Some guys just watch their phone and (verbally) respond to the on-screen comments. They're actually discussing hotel amenities and available parking throughout the songs.

Love the music but man those lyrics are cringeworthy. Only good line is “storms will rise out of innocent skies”. Pretty crazy how well the song fit with yesterday’s events though. Hope it grows on me, the music will certainly help but the lyrics are gaucho bad and quite reminiscent.

What brings you to these boards still? You hate the album you’re not going to like it accept it and move on. seems like you just like to post daily about how you hate every song

Hope keeps us coming back. Still praying for a great one among those we haven’t heard. Hasn’t happened yet. So far I haven’t heard anything I enjoy nearly as much as half the songs from the last two albums. Dave has really lost his lyrical mojo.
