My Raleigh seats are way back. But only $65 and has a dedicated seat for me and my lady is a great deal to be in the building when the band returns to the stage!

Not much of a difference between back of the pavilion and front of the lawn. Really just separated by the aisle. Honestly the view is actually probably better front of the lawn than it would be back of the pavilion and you aren't protected by weather in some of those sections. Only good for a seat and not having to fight your way back to a spot if you are alone on the lawn.

There are several historical sites around Raleigh if you are into that. The state Museums of History and Natural History are downtown and directly next to each other. They are free. There are several breweries downtown and little cafes. It's really a very small downtown. Maybe 8x8 blocks at its widest points. You could walk the few blocks perimeter if you wanted to just wander.

If anyone has WH lawn and not planning on early entry...i'm looking to trade a LN ticket for a WH ticket so that a friend can get in the venue early. Will give your WH stub back to you once doors are open.

Chances on a lot of repeats on these 2 since they are the opening dates of the tour? Only thing keeping me from committing to both.

Personally I would be surprised by "a lot" of repeats. If they play any new songs opening night, it wouldn't shock me to also see them played in Charlotte. Aside from that, would be pretty surprised to see a lot of repeats over the first two nights.

But maybe I'm just trying to convince myself since I'm traveling from NY for both shows

Didn't think about new songs, that would throw a curveball too if they bust out new material. I just keep thinking this is going to a "balls to the wall since it's been a while tour" but who knows.

It will be a good time regardless.

That’s what I’ve gathered unless I counted wrong. The trend is upwards in repeats. I hope it’s well under 10 for sure.

Unless I'm missing something, I'm not seeing where they played these two venues back to back in those years

Making the drive from Syracuse for these 2 shows, all set with what looks like decent hotels, open to suggestions for must stop breweries/pubs/eats.

I don’t think the fact that Charlotte being in the same state as Raleigh really weighs on the band (Dave) at all. The tours that started with two Texas shows (some of the above stats) have considerable repeats. And actually the 10 repeats in 2019 were in Pensacola and Jacksonville, same state there too.

Think he’s referring to two-show openers in close proximity those years but I think 2016 is off.

I went on the almanac and I'm counting 5 repeats from Pensacola to Jacksonville but I do agree with the 2 shows being in the same state doesn't factor into the setlist decision. He plays what he wants to play and I do think he goes off of past shows at that specific venue.

If I had to guess the amount of repeats from Raleigh to Charlotte, I would guess 3-5 songs. I wouldn't be surprised if there's no repeats the 1st 2 shows this year due to the time off.

Wow it really is 5. I completely botched that, my bad. My brain automatically reverted to the Pelham/Nashville situation where 10 songs got repeated, whoops.

Yeah hopefully 5 or less. Let's hope for some good liberations at both shows. Charlotte has been getting good sets/shows for a while, I'm sure it'll continue.

Also, I think the 2018 opening shows are a good reflection of what I would expect this year.

Garner is closest and cheapest but also the least fun lol. Downtown Raleigh is within 10 miles and has the most to do, but the most expensive. Cary is less expensive, very nice and about 10 miles from the show. You can also get to downtown easily from there. You can also hit Fortnight Brewery in Cary. And yes, Uber and Lyft are both available from the show. If you are going downtown, go to the Pit Barbecue.

Ha, yes! Not a good opener. I was just thinking about songs in general. I'm holding out hope for a Pig opener.

Unfortunately, didn't make the decision until after the announcement. I was on early enough where I could have gotten pit tickets through the real time on sale the WH did - but, the decision to go wasn't made until a couple days later. I'm sure with patience I'll be able to get some. I also have some good tickets I could trade if it really comes down to it.

The CT opener was done because of a shooting that occurred nearby. The band will undoubtedly get together for a few days before the show to practice and that means a high chance of older songs making an appearance. Maybe it will be more like the 2010 summer opening show. Now that would be something.
