***Official Virginia Beach 2020***

I'm looking forward to my fourth show at Virginia Beach since 2010. It will be my wife's first VB road trip from NoVa. Love to hit Williamsburg on the way down, and Yorktown on the way back up, though may check out Jamestown for the first time. I stayed in Norfolk for the first time in 2018 and really liked that town, will probably stay there again for a long weekend in southern VA.

I find the venue itself more laid back and comfortable than Bristow. Usually get a nice breeze coming in from the ocean to cut the Virginia July heat. 2018 was very rainy/misty, but I'll take that over the 95 degree heat of 2019 Bristow or 2017 MPP any day.

For those missing out on Camden this year, I highly recommend a long drive to VA Beach for an underrated venue on a Saturday night.

Misty 2018 was actually low key fantastic. Felt amazing. Set was meh after an amazing Raleigh show but still loved it and excited to get back

I find the parking lots at VB are wayyyyy easier to get out of than Bristow. Have never waited so bad in traffic as I did in Bristow. VB is my home venue and glad DMB isn’t doing SITW this year so we get them back at the amphitheatre

Me and my buddy are heading to VA Beach for the first time this summer so looking forward to it. Definitely going for pit tickets through the Warehouse. I was wondering if both of us requesting a single pit ticket would increase our chances of getting pit or just request a pair of pit on one account and hope for the best.

First time for me not putting in a request since 2003, kinda sad. We just couldnt make any dates work this summer. Now a day later we looked a little harder and think we might try and make this show work for us. We will be coming from North Dakota so kinda looking for any advice as to best airport to fly into/out of. We were possible thinking of flying into Charlottesville and taking in the sights and driving down the next day. I guess first we need tickets now lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. PM me as well with anything. Thanks in advance.

The closest airport to Va Beach is the Norfolk airport. If you fly into Charlottesville you are looking at a 3 hour drive without traffic. With the show on a Saturday you are going to have to fight with the beach traffic. If you are not across the water by 10 am you are going to be sitting for at least an hour. You could also fly into Richmond or Newport News. Anyway, just allow yourself plenty of time to navigate traffic on Saturday.

Yeah, if we get tix from WH (which I'm thinking we will), we'll be driving from Friday's Raleigh show to Saturday's VA Beach show.

Home is NoVA, so the big drive is from there to Raleigh, but I hadn't thought about the drive east to the Beach...prolly minimum of 4 hrs w/ beach traffic...ugh.

Great great spot to catch a show, anyone going for the 1st time will be pleasantly surprised.

Couple things for the newbies: you can drink in the lots (candidly, of course) but that's about it. They're very strict on grills, large gatherings, pop ups, etc. Don't expect to come here and really tailgate.

That said, come early and spend the day at the beach and then drive over to the venue. Great way to spend a Saturday. For those who have been to Bristow, this is the exact same venue just a hair smaller. Shed, huge lawn, decent pit.

We went VA Beach for the 1st time 2018 and it was crazy that is was the SAME shed at Bristow. Crazy high ceiling...spartan/utilitarian...

There are also very limited port-pottys in the parking lot, as in almost zero.

Looks like we'll be doing the same trip! Except we're flying into Raleigh from Nashville, then driving to VA Beach.

Cellar Door Productions was a big east-coast concert promoter in the '90s. They helped develop the Bristow amp in '95, and the VA Beach amp in '96. That's probably why they're very similar in design.

Really cool insight! When I say they're exactly the same, I mean EXACTLY the same. I went to both the 1st time on 07 and was shocked that once you're inside the gates, they're mirror images.

Also, might *potentially* have two pits/lowers (depending on confirmations) available at the WH-kosher face price for VA Beach as it looks like both myself and a friend have hard charges for pit/lower for this concert

Been slowly getting plans together for a two-family trip to the Raleigh - Va Beach shows. Came across some unfortunate news about something we were all excited to do: the Va Beach pirate ship cruise is out of commission. Apparently the owners of the boat sold it to a tour company in Tampa FL (https://www.tampabay.com/news/busine...t-pirate-ship/).

Anybody know of other companies that would be hosting family-friendly pirate ship cruises in Va Beach this summer?

1st time VB goer here. Thought I would pop in and say hi! The rescheduled dates have us missing our SPAC weekend but I was able to scramble and scooped a couple of PIT tickets for the VB show for the wife and I. We plan to make a visit to Norfolk and hit The Veil for some killer craft beer. Looking for recommendations on other can't miss places in the area. Best restaurants, can't miss activities or places that we must see while we are in the area. Looking forward to adding a new venue to our tour stops belt. Cheers!

We scored a pair of WH pits for 2020 and we're very excited, then the shit hit the fan and we got refunds for the six shows we scored via WH. I'd like to think you got our and get to enjoy them greatly.

We got tix for both SPAC shows and MPP...hopefully we still get to go to these. We might add Raleigh again to see the 1st show back, but it still feels like things could be sketchy in July...especially hearing that so many folks aren't following up with their second shots.

It's the only VA ("home") show this year...MPP is close, but not VA.

Maybe they hit C-Ville in the fall or winter?

I've sat in the 100 level side sections (101 and 103) before and they were both great... as is the Pit obviously. Can't speak for the uppers or lawn though.
