In a recent thread, people were disliking Dreams Of Our Fathers as they ranked Everyday's songs. I find DOOF amazing, and hope it gets played a couple times in this band's life.

Yeah, it's one of three songs I actually like on the album. It's one of their most unique sounding songs, as in there's really no other song in their catalog that it sounds like or that sounds like it.

Football's a ways off, and I'm wondering when they'll actually start having that many folks in Camden. Also, the state announcing it as "approved" and Camden/MLB going ahead at that level are not mutually assured.

No one asked, obviously, but I'd start w/ much lower numbers...like 25% and work it up as the vaccination numbers warrant/justify.

Per the Governors order...“Outdoor Venue” means any outdoor venue in Maryland at which (i) live
performances occur, motion pictures are shown, or sporting events occur
(including, without limitation, major league, professional, minor league, semiprofessional, amateur, recreational, motor sports, and collegiate sporting events),
and (ii) entry is limited to ticketed customers;


Maryland has a bunch of venues that could hold concerts. As other stats start to use the same guide lines you have enough venues that can easily hold 15k-20K people in a socially distanced 50% capacity.

Pimlico 50k
FedEx Field 41k
M&T Bank 35K
Capital One Field (University of Maryland) 25K
Camden Yards 23K
Memorial Stadium (navy) 17K

This is one state, there are tons of venues that have nothing going on across the country. Let's hit the road boys!

Remember though, it has to make sense fiscally. They have to pay their crew, it costs a lot of money to travel with said crew, there will be added costs to comply with CDC regulations, and when you’re only playing to 50% capacity, if that, it may not make sense. Just because things open to a certain capacity doesn’t mean it’s going to make sense to do it. Not to be a downer, but I’m just not convinced this works. Plus, what happens to all the people holding tickets? How do you inform a selection of ticket holders, that have been holding these tickets for a year now mind you, they can’t attend the show, but this half can?

I'm aware of MD's various venues...northern VA resident. The governor can't force any of these venues to 50% capacity if they choose not to go that route. This merely an approval w/ a maximum set. The only sport I enjoy at stadiums is baseball, but I'm not rushing to a stadium anytime soon.

Again, each venue and their governing institution(s) will determine the safety/liability and base their decisions on that. Sports venues and their folks might be more willing to take a chance than MPP or MECU...that said MPP and MECU only have indoor bathrooms, so they have less risk.

Regardless, I'm not in a rush to get on the road until I feel safe for my family. That's no where near the case right now w/ only one immediate family 1/2 vaccinated.

But more power to the folks that are vaccinated and/or willing to risk their health and that of their families. I hope everyone comes away w/o incident.

I was thinking the same regarding immunization.

If I had a venue, I only want folks that I had some confidence weren't a risk and weren't going to put others at risk. While knowing, of course, that the gov't can't make people vaccinate. So even if SPAC required proof of vaccination for a show, how do they deal w/ those that didn't/won't vaccinate and their ticket purchases?

Lots of pissed off and/or alienated patrons is pretty much assured. That's why waiting until 2022 when hundreds of millions have been vaccinated (and therefore more "longer" term efficacy numbers have been confirmed) seems the safest/smartest way forward.

The band plays at Meriwether Post and Susquehanna in Camden, their sold out capacity is between 19k and 25k if they played a show at Camden Yards even at 50% capacity they are still selling 20k+ tickets.

The venue wouldn't have to have a normal full staff on hand for 20k fans at Camden Yards. So they band, ticketmaster/live nation, the venue, and employee are all making money.

To the fans who had tickets to shows on 2019, I'm sorry but the best we're gonna do is a full refund or give you a site credit to buy tickets to this upcoming show. Your choice.

Pretty simple solution.

Does the band want to do a limited tour of 20-30 dates this Summer at select football stadiums and other large venues not being used where they could sell the equivalent of a sold out meriwether, camden, or spac ticket sales and place those fans in a larger stadium.
