Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Hope you all enjoyed your runs this morning. All you Ants kept me motivated to stay on track this morning, while also pushing me to break 30 minutes. Happy to report I came in at 29:22. Spilts were a little wonky at first but settled into a nice pace there at the end.

Unfortunately I slept a little too long (over did it a slightttt amount last night) and only had time for a 3 mile run this morning. A little under the 8:30 pace I was going for. Aside from the slight humidity, it was gorgeous running weather.

I've been thinking of upgrading my watch and am torn between the Garmin Forerunner 935 and Garmin Fenix 6s. Anyone have thoughts one way or the other? I am not opposed to switching brands, but I've had a Garmin Forerunner 230 for the last five years or so and am pretty familiar with the app and features Garmin has in the watch.

I have the 645 and I don't see how the little extra bells and whistles that the 945 has is worth the extra $300ish.

I'm very pleased with my 645.

    yeah agreed

forerunner is lighter and probably more comfortable to run with (heavier fenix makes the HR less accurate when exercising)

if you are looking for a fitness watch and you primarily run, i'd go with 645

Picking my mileage back up now that it's December. Had a big ol' bowl of oatmeal this morning and then did 8 once it settled. Felt fantastic. Was able to keep my heart rate around 148 and still kept an 8:20/pace.

If it were a race I could have really opened 'er up and get some low times but alas, the training run keeps me in check so I don't get injuries.

if i remember correctly, your spring marathon got cancelled, too. are you hoping to finish 26.2 in 2021?

I'm typically an empty stomach runner for long runs. I had a piece of whole wheat toast with some almond butter once before a half marathon...like 1.5 hours before. And it didn't sit right.

i'm the total opposite. i'll occasionally do a fasted run in the early early morning before work. t might just be 4 miles but i feel like i'm dying

I started intermittent fasting last January was worried about my morning runs. Really hasn't affected me like I thought it would. I've lost weight and gotten faster. I've rarely had a run where I felt like I was too hungry to finish or anything.

How do you track your mileage? I write down the miles and time on my big calendar. I also keep a color coded spreadsheet to keep track of the mileage on my shoes. Each column is a month, it totals at the bottom, then keeps a yearly total at the end.

My Garmin watch/app does all of it. You can also upload shoes so you can see how many miles they get

I still have a forerunner 10. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles.
Do you guys rotate shoes? The most I've been using at once was 5 pairs. That's back when I was marathon training and then running 400 days in a row. Tried to space them about 100 miles apart from each other.

How do you track your mileage? I write down the miles and time on my big calendar. I also keep a color coded spreadsheet to keep track of the mileage on my shoes. Each column is a month, it totals at the bottom, then keeps a yearly total at the end.
i know a lot of people that love intermittent fasting. all males. i've tried it, definitely not for me. i get hangry after 4 hours of no food haha. after looking into it, it looks like the impact of intermittent fasting is different for males vs females. for men it can boost metabolism, increase hormone function. for women it's pretty much the opposite

when i'm not training for a race, i just shoot for a general weekly mileage. right now my garmin is linked to strava, which tells me my weekly mileage. it's a great app

Do you guys rotate shoes? The most I've been using at once was 5 pairs. That's back when I was marathon training and then running 400 days in a row. Tried to space them about 100 miles apart from each other.
i rotate between 2 shoes usually. but i don't track miles on them like i should
