Ordering the 12 pro max as well, but have to work a 12 hour double shift that starts at 10... probably not worth losing sleep to order at 7am. I'll order at 9:30 when I wake up and get it when I get it.

Damn. Wish I hadn't seen this... I'm super tempted now. Apparently the sale is happening at WalMart and Costco too. My EarPods just took a shit too so it seems like this may be the time to buy for me lol

Phone just arrived. This thing is beefy. Checking out the new OS now. What's with the huge gap between the last row of apps and the tool bar apps, where the page dots are? That's really obnoxious.

App library is cool, I guess, but I've had my apps organized like that since they implemented folders.

Can you guys help me out with a recommendation by chance? I am looking to get a "newer" iPad, MacBook or whatever specifically for recording (Garageband). I can't stand ProTools on my PC. Unfortunately all the iPads we have are all too old and don't support USB-C. I don't need a fancy brand new machine or tablet or anything so I was looking at refurbished or used for the cheapest option. I am only going to use it to connect my Digital Audio Workstation to Garageband and record. Any recommendations on what I should look for and where? In the research I have done I am not sure what direction to go so I am looking for advice.

the keyboard on my 2014 macbook pro is starting to go (I'm currently using an external, which is a pain in the ass), and these new Macbook Air's with the M1 chip are looking really solid. I don't think I need the Pro anymore because I'm really just on the internet for work, don't need anything major for that. and the new Air's performance seems to be about up to speed to the Pro. probably will pull the trigger at some point.

so I did not realize that you can buy products on the apple educational store and they don't do anything to verify your credentials. the new macbook air is on there for $899 with upgraded storage ($250 off) and I feel like that is a deal too good to pass up.

I'm hoping one of you geniuses can help with this problem. Long story short, everyone in my family has airpods. Any time I unlock my phone, someone with airpods on will connect to my phone and disconnect from their phone. I have to turn off my bluetooth if I'm going to be on my phone while in the house because if I don't, no one can use their airpods. Does anyone have experience and a solution for this. I've tried "forget this device" to no avail.

Are you signed into the same iCloud account on the other devices? I had this problem too, and then my fiancée logged into her iCloud account and that fixed it.

unfortunately I think it’s by design. It’s a new iOS 14 feature where you have automatic audio switching between your iCloud devices. I believe there is a setting in AirPods bluetooth settings where you can turn off auto-switching to “when last connected to this phone” but I’m not sure if that totally fixes it.

related: I can't figure out that automatic switching. I have both an iPhone XR running the current iOS, a MacBook running the current OSX, and AirPods pro. I have never once had them switch from one device to the other automatically.

Also had a weird thing last night, internal speakers on my MacBook Air were VERY quiet last night. Barely audible, low. Volume adjustment slider was all the way up and it was no louder than like 40%. Restarted and it fixed the issue, was just strange.

I snagged these when I saw the price drop. Plan to get the iPhone 12 Pro and an apple watch so this will complete the ecosystem I'm going for. Great deal - bought them for my wife last year for Christmas at list price and she still loves them

My AirPods Pro went through the wash yesterday, case and all. When I took them out the left one gave a high pitch sound so I was worried. Threw it all in rice and a few hours later they were fine. Phew.

My wife and I just ordered some watches. She went with the 40mm and I got the 44mm. My main concern is the watch being too big, but figured I’d like the larger display. Went with the Apple Store because of the gift card promo. We didn’t like the available bands at Best Buy.
