Re: Album of the Day

Will do. I just bookmarked "Enjoy Eternal Bliss" for the next time I'm not on the University network. Is that the album you're talking about?

    Yep.

It's only 4 songs long (and technically an EP) but given that the entire thing clocks in at over an hour, it could essentially be a major release.

Almost all original. At least one is a cover, though. Sharon Jones' track.

    love the lemonheads.

i saw them a couple of years ago and while i was standing outside the venue.. i watched two guy's carry evan dando into the place and basically put him on stage. he gets wrecked before he goes on. still good though and at times hilarious.

i suspect Here We go Magic is gonna go over well here. they're all over the map with their sound, but the opening track is totally channeling paul simon/graceland.

This album has me curious. I was shown a track a while ago and it seems like actual, sincere rap which is a concept completely new to me.

Mos Def & Talib Kweli are very socially conscious. The album came out after BIG and Tupac were murdered and focuses a lot on how there is too much violence in hip-hop. Plus they're two great MCs, so the album works on that level, too. Check out "Definition" if nothing else.

Just a few things here and there. There are a lot of covers. His "Oh, What a Night" is great, as is his cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic," where he uses a tape of the actual beat to play along to.

    Also, get these:

    http://alimaggs.spaces.live.com/Blog...398!2840.entry

They're in wma, but iTunes will convert to mp3. A little EP he put out a while ago. The second song is great.

Quite awesome. Although I am throughly confused about whether its Realpeople or The Real People. I think I am going to go with the latter.

I really enjoyed this album. I may have been the only one who liked it better than Deerhunter's album last year. But its really fucking good.
