I've said this 100 times, and this quote pretty much proves it: Dave sees DMB still touring as a favor to his fans. That's the best way I can describe it. He doesn't want to do it. He doesn't need to do it...but he knows people love it, so he'll put up with it on his terms. The setlists are his terms.

I’ll be fair, he made that comment in New Orleans when he was still in “IDGAF” mode. Things took a turn after Nashville, someone certainly got through to him.

I completely agree with you, he plays what he wants to play which works out when it aligns with what you hear and doesn't when it's something else. A lot of the people here are completely ridiculous but it's been that way for a long time, I thought the Europe tour was really bad but it changed nothing about my perception of him as a person.

He goes out of the way for people who need it, the people of Charlottesville when he threw together the Concert for Charlottesville, the Sam Berns of the world, several years ago there was a sick child who was supposed to do a meet and greet backstage but was too sick to make it so Dave went to his home and played solo for him after a DMB show. Calling him an asshole and beating your chest about not seeing them because of his character is absurd, if what he wants to play doesn't line up with what someone wants to see you don't have to go.
