I'm definitely going to be buying the deluxe packages especially if that's the only way of obtaining the bsides.
When stand up and big whiskey were released were the bonus disc only available to warehouse members, I don't remember? I wonder if they will have separate tracks for copies purchased through warehouse accounts?

The Stand Up disc came with pre orders, Warehouse members got the same bonus disc, plus a couple extra live tracks and that Mark & Carter jam

Okay thanks I thought it was something like that. Was buying the big deluxe package for big whiskey the only way to obtain the little red bird ep. I can't remember what the box set was something around seventy I thought or were you just able to purchase the two discs on their own?

If there’s studio cuts of known songs, previously unknown studio cuts of older songs that sat in the vault up until that point, or brand new studio cut songs, then I’m buying the deluxe version of the album. If it’s merely only live cuts of songs like AFTW’s deluxe box set was, then I’m only buying the regular album and pocketing the rest of my money.

Mark Baston saw it. No title, but he said it was on fire as F and you'll love it. It's a look into the future with a twist of the present, but manages to stay true to the past.

I would maybe define things more like this though:
Early DMB ("jam") is 1991-2000
Middle DMB ("pop") is 2001-2007
Late DMB ("loud/rock") is 2008-current (basically Tim)

That seems to coincide mostly with what you had above.

i would make the 2001-2007 phase be jazz/pop, but otherwise i think thats pretty good

It concerns me that Batson's name is anywhere near this current project, but at least he doesn't seem to have been solely in charge of the production.

I'm still not sure how much of Stand Up was the band being in a bad place, and how much was Batson just having no clue how to produce their sound. Either way, that album is f-l-a-t as a pancake.

I’m thinking the album must be a lot less done than we think/hope. Baston credited himself as one of the three producers, and yet acted like it was the first time he’d ever heard any of these songs (including the ones which he apparently recorded). Maybe producing a few songs on an album doesn’t take that long, but you’d think he would have been involved earlier if the album is only a few months from release. Seems odd, but I know nothing about the process, so I could be waaay off.
