The email they send out will have a link. It's at that point that you pick which one you want.

Got something like that for my recent Courtney Barnett purchase.

It also had the option to upgrade to the vinyl for an additional price. I'm sure DMB will offer something similar. Any chance to upsell you they can find.

The DMB marketing and PR teams have done such a shitty job promoting this album. They've literally done nothing to build anticipation or get the fan base excited. We've heard more about the album from Mark Batson's Instagram account than the DMB team. I can't believe the DMB team can be this fucking out of touch; I'm guessing we've gotten little to no official promotion because they have no idea when the fuck this thing is coming out or what's going to be on it. I suspect we're looking at a really late summer release

Still a long time to go until the album is released. The original announcement was just to sell tickets. They’ll start promoting to everyone else starting late spring probably with the summer release date

I think that's the key word bolded right there, he did not just get involved with the album this week that much I can guarantee 100% so perhaps he was dropping bombs with a little bit of misdirection thrown in to ensure he didn't land in detention.

To be fair they only announced the album was coming. From the sound of it, the music is done. Now its just deciding the track list and getting the marketing machine in order before they kick it in overdrive. They are playing it normal.
(yes they could be doing much more but they never do)

I expect a single and major announcement probably mid to late March, drop a second single when the tour starts and drop the album sometime during the tour.

Also don't forget the rumor that Dave was going to be playing on SNL or something? That rumor is out there.

The game has changed where the marketing and promotion for an album doesn't need to last a half a year like in the past. You only need about two months tops.

Also very much this. I know we call the warehouse stupid but thats a whole different entity.

The album stuff is handled by management, producers and Dave himself. And really at this point, this whole project and marketing promotion will get greenlit when Dave himself green lights it. So don't blame management or marketing. Blame Dave if anything as everything pretty much rests on his decision on where to go with it. The marketing team just releases what is given to them from management and works there magic from that.

The purpose of a single is to get people to buy the album. Anyone who already knows any of the songs on this album is not in the target audience of a single.

If the album is still being worked on, then why would the band market anything more on it? They really don't owe us anything until they're ready. Maybe the Boyd situation set things back a bit and they're reacting to that. Not sure why there is frustration. It's early March.....

They kind of set themselves up for this by tying the album to ticket sales without it being finished. That forced them to announce its existence long before they were going to be ready to release any details.

They were supposedly putting the "finishing touches" on the album when they announced the tour, and that was nearly two months ago. They can only wait so long to start sharing some information. If we get within a month of the tour starting without any official info, I think people will have the right to be upset.

The fact that Chester's youtube videos get more views than DMB's Youtube videos is flat out laughable

I'm the quintessential casual fan, no idea what any of these songs are beside idea of you. Only have access to DMB material from what I've bought and what I have on spotify.
