When you say you had the release surgery, what does that exactly mean? I had surgery for it in both feet. Nothing worked either after trying everything. Only cortisone injections gave me a little relief and that was for a short period of time. Can you imagine standing for 9-12 hours on feet with plantar fasciitis.

My surgeries involved just cutting it, the muscle. Thankfully, I have no pain since I recovered from the surgery even again. Sometimes, my feet are sore after maybe 3 days in a row for a total of 30+ hours standing on them but overall, they are great.

Yeah dude I'm not sure, but like I said I didn't seek treatment or do anything to solve the problem, I just dealt with it until it went away. I remember how dibilitating it was though. I haven't even had a trace of it since the last time it went away and that was a couple years ago. I know that after reading about it a lot has to do with weight, specifically obesity. Based on the BMI scale I am obese, although anybody looking at me on the street wouldn't say so. I have no explanation or words of wisdom. I did buy a pair of proper sneakers with decent support but never wore them often enough to say that did the trick, and I've been the same weight for years so that's not it either. I've heard, as the poster above said, that cortisone injections can help tremendously.

The way I've heard is a drunk is someone that can stop but won't. An alcoholic is someone that wants to stop but can't.

I forgot to include high cholesterol. I am on Crestor for it. Fucking genetics.

But the Ulcerative Colitis is the worst. Chronic disease that will never go away. When I have flare ups like have now, it's almost unbearable. However, a lot of people with the disease have it much worse than I do so I am pretty lucky.

Chronic diseases are the worst. This is exactly how I feel with psoriasis. I read stories of people who have it much worse but it still fucking blows. The fact that you can't control a flare up is really annoying.

For those who have anxiety listed I would highly recommend mindfulness therapy. Has been pretty life changing for me.

the release surgery is where they cut the biggest strand or portion of the fascia, and over time it grows back. it was a scope surgery, so i have a small incision on the inside of my foot down toward the bottom under the ankle, and directly on the other side.

had it done in October and the pain is even worse

well, i think drinking can be problematic to someone's life without that person having an obsession and loss of control over the substance. you don't necessarily need to have an addiction to alcohol for it to cause problems in your life. if you catch what's going on, you can then taper off the booze or stop for a while without it being difficult before it becomes something more serious.

It's not that you have to have an addiction for it to cause problems but you can also be addicted without it causing problems. There is such a thing as functioning alcoholics. Not trying to be judgemental or shit on anyone here. I'm just saying that I don't know there's a strong divide between drinking problem and alcoholic. I will say that I've seen Intervention about people who I think are extreme alcoholics and, when compared to them, other people only have "drinking problems".

    Re: What are your ailments?

I'm legally blind, only have 5% total vision in one eye. Last year began dealing with eye pressure issues. Thankfully it's not glaucoma. Eye drops manage things for now, but surgery is probably in the future.

I have always vacillated between depression and anxiety. Sometimes the latter gives me constipation.

Sleep disorders including insomnia, sleep paralysis and only getting usually 3-4 hours at a stretch.

I'm about 30 lbs. overweight, although at over 6 feet tall I can sorta manage. But it's starting to really grate on my body.

Lower back pain/sciatica, etc. Due to weight issues and having to stoop/look at everything so close all the time. Glasses don't do much.

    Prone to migraines.

    Some typical allergies.

Fetal alcohol syndrome w/ some autistic traits. I'm considered high functioning though.

    Being poor/single/petless.

    Teeth issues/can't grow a beard.

I don't have full lung capacity, an issue I notice especially when the weather turns cold.

Basically, I'm a few lumbering steps away from being Joseph Merrick.

Oh yeah, I've also had a broken leg. Impetigo as a child. A blood clot in my nose. Mild psychosis/hallucinations. A sprained foot. I've attempted suicide a few times with pills/knives/rope. I also have hearing issues, though not bad enough to lose Left-middle-right perception. Tinnitus in my right ear. Chronic IBS. Trouble swallowing certain foods. My long term memory is spotty.

Guess what, I have flaws. What are they? Oh, I don't know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me... No, don't sue me. That is the opposite of the point that I'm trying to make.

COVID test has NOTHING on what they did to me on Monday! They stuck so many weird instruments up my nose in an effort to help relieve pressure. I wear a hearing aid in my right ear so they are hoping this will help my hearing a bit.

It's been about 48 hours since they did it and everything is normal. Apparently my hearing should improve in about 3 to 4 weeks, so fingers crossed. The night of the procedure I was very snotty, had a very sore throat and I was just out of it.
